93rd Assault Cluster (Clan Steel Viper)

The original 93^rd Assault Cluster was destroyed by a combination of Clan Goliath Scorpion and Clan Fire Mandrill. They were reformed as part of Fer-De-Lance Galaxy, where they were slated as a potential elite unit. All of their members has either been blooded in battle with the help of The Burrocks or by fighting against the other Clans in internal trials. They are meant to take part of the strikes against the Marian Hegemony.

Recent History

As the Viper’s touman was being rebuilt, there was still some resentment between “survivors” of this unit and the Fire Mandrills. Internal Trials between the Clans were quite limited by the Republic, but the 93^rd found reasons to get into fights with the Mandrills. Those limited scale conflicts allowed both Clans to have some warriors with actual combat experience, which the Khans approved of. The Republic kept out of the internal affairs of the two Clans but laid down basic guidelines.

Another source of training for the 93^rd was deployment of some of their stars as part of raids by the Burrock pirates. Many pilots learned the ropes of hit and run tactics from them. Using heavier ‘mechs than the Burrock raiders most of the times, the loaned 93^rd warriors often acted as battering rams, which is something they learned to appreciate.

Tactics

The 93^rd is a skilled unit that prefers line-breaking and siege-breaking operations, using their heavier machines supported by elementals to take the fight to their opponents.
