Colonel Bronwyn McDowell

Bonnie McDowell, born Bronwyn McDowell, is a military officer in service of the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey. She is the current commanding officer of the Seventh Tamarind Regular. She is posted on the border of the Marian Hegemony after the Marian War of Aggression. An imaginative commander, Bonnie McDowell has studied many mercenary commands in order to understand what made them work well and applied it to her Tamarind Regulars. She is close to Fontaine Marik in his many schemes and is happy to help the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey grow and take a leadership role in the Free Worlds League.

Career

Bonnie McDowell originally trained at the Orloff Military Academy, after her parents secured an invitation to the exclusive school. Popular amongst the students and faculty, her overall grades and results were middling but enough to easily secure a lieutenant brevet after graduation. She started her military career serving in the 4^th Tamarind Regulars, where she remained popular due to her jovial attitude and her way of “avoiding work”. She got into some trouble with some commanding officers, but she met Fontaine Marik and was given a slap on the wrist.

While not “close” to Fontaine Marik, the two kept a correspondence over the years, and the Duke was invited to her wedding in 3127. By that time, Bronwyn had reached the rank of Major and after her wedding, was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and assigned to the 7^th Tamarind Regular. The unit was being mustered at the time, and Bonnie McDowell was given the responsibility to raise it to combat standard.

While the overall performance of the Seventh has not been stellar, Bonnie McDowell performed well under pressure and kept her forces in full working order. Her unit mainly fought against pirates and the Marian Hegemony, while most other Regular units were busy fighting the Lyrans or the Wolf Empire.
