Recent History

Taurus Territorial Industries relied heavily on their Jansen’s Hold and Sterope plants to keep them in business during the early Republican era. Production contracts and equipment contracts were still flowing in from the Taurian Defense Force, which was a big plus. The government needed to make sure the Taurus factories were rebuilt as quickly as possible both as a security concern, but also to keep the unrest amongst the population down as it was the biggest employer on the planet. Construction crew and salvage crews were often promised jobs in TTI during this process to give additional incentives.

It was in the early 32nd century that TTI started communication and trade with Clan Sea Fox in earnest, dealing with Jackson Yung of the Lone Aimag. These Sea Fox quasi-renegades, quasi-pariahs were happy to help the Taurian company in exchange for trade concessions and an enclave on Taurus for trade. It was thanks to these investments that Andrew Yung was able to secure the rights to an uncolonized yet livable world near the Taurian / Aurigan border.

Taurian Territorial Industries is benefitting from the expansion of the Rimward Alliance. The Taurian government has opened up the sale of equipment to all members of the alliance, with the Calderon Protectorate jumping on the occasion to rebuild much of their depleted supplies using “locally sourced” weapons.

Manufacturing

Jansen’s Hold

The Jansen’s Hold factory has been built in conjunction with the Aurigan Trade Alliance to provide additional “275 Mafia” ‘Mechs to the rim ward region. While originally only building very basic Griffin and a copy of the Rim Worlds Alliance Phoenix, it expanded to be able to produce all 3 standard 55 ton ‘Mechs: the Griffin, the Shadow Hawk and the Wolverine. The factory also builds components for the Aurigan Flying Badger OmniMech.

BattleMechs

Sterope

The Sterope facilities concentrate on producing support equipment and weapons for the Taurian military. While it was not at full production in 3081, it bounced back in the mid 3085 by selling small arms and equipment to nearby militias and “patriot groups”.

Taurus

The massive damage to the Taurus factories during the end of the Jihad were a clear indicator to the Taurians that they were still not playing in the same league as the “big boys” of the Inner Sphere. Repairs and reconstruction efforts took until the start of the 32nd century of the facilities to come back to a production level Taurus Territorial Arms found reasonable. Thanks to investment by other corporations and contracts with Clan Sea Fox, they have been able to revamp and reequip quicker than they expected, however.

Effective Technology Level

Taurus Territorial Industries is one of the most advanced companies in the rim ward region. They have full access to advanced construction materials and equipment, from endo-steel all the way to advanced armor compound like Stealth armor. While the Taurus plant had been destroyed in the mid 3070s by Federated Suns reprisals, the Taurian government invested massive amounts of resources to bring it back up by the end of the 31st century, partially thanks to technological aid by Clan Sea Fox and the Aurigan Trade Alliance. These partnerships led TTI to start building some components for Yung Industries and various outfits in the Trade Alliance, modernizing their production further

Taurus Territorial Industries can build the following Clan-graded equipment in limited quantities:

  • ER Lasers
  • Pulse Lasers
  • LRM
  • SRM
  • Clan Ferro-Fibrous (larger scale)
