Pinard Protectorates Limited

Pinard Protectorates Limited came to prominence in the 3020s as a small arms manufacturer. They quickly grew and expanded to produce some basic military equipment for the Taurian Concordat and nearby nations and provinces. They finally started building BattleMechs and became one of the primary provider of scout ‘mechs in the general region with a reliable production of Locusts, Wasps and Stinger.

The company hit a hard spot during the Jihad, but not for the same reasons many other did. The Taurian Concordat had been striking at the Federated Suns during that era and by 3074, Hansen’s Roughriders, under contract by the First Princess, struck out against Taurian assets, leveling multiple Pinard factories and crippling their supply lines.The company stock prices collapsed as they were unable to recover from this effectively, and by the mid 3080s, they were purchased by the two lead Taurian weapon’s manufacturers, Taurus Territorial Industries and Vandenburg Mechanized Industries. While Pinard remained somewhat independent, their corporate assets, finances and human resources were now managed in part by the two other businesses. The Taurian government only allowed for the sale to prevent Pinard from collapsing and were happy that the two other manufacturers had to share the expenses rather than forming a larger monopoly.

Recent History

Since their sale in 3084, Pinard has mostly focused on restoring their lost production capabilities on MacLeod’s Land and modernizing their existing infrastructure. While the company is more or less independent, their human resources and marketing team have been taken over by the two parent companies, which reduced their overhead.

With the expansion of the Rimward Alliance, Pinard Protectorates managed to secure new contracts with the Aurigan Trade Alliance and Fronc Reaches. Planetary militias in the region were overjoyed to be able to buy new Clints as light unit commanders while the production of the Sabre aerospace fighter exploded as all members of the alliance needed them to replenish their space defense force.

These facilities were destroyed during the Jihad by Federated Suns forces. Pinard Protectorates Limited invested heavily in restoring them, but as their financial situation worsened, this slowed things down. The operations were not fully restored until the mid-3130s.

Pinard

The main facilities for the corporation, the Pinard factories were not damaged by the Jihad but were still running below maximum efficiency due to lack of personnel and supplies. When TTI and VMI bought our Pinard Protectorates Limited, they focused on improving their supply line and hiring new employees to maximise revenue.

Effective Technology Level

Pinard Protectorates Limited has yet to fully implement most “modern” technologies in their processes and production. While they have begun producing double heat sinks thanks to their parent companies, most advanced parts like endo-steel and ferro-fibrous is imported. Aspero-Dinton Manufacturing and Flanagan Repairs and Refits has a special deal with Pinard to provide them with various forms of ferro-fibrous plating.

Pinard Protectorates Limited does not produce any Clan-graded equipment. They also cannot built any endo-steel or ferro-fibrous based components.
