Cosby BattleMech and Myomer Research Firm is a R&D and weapons production corporations with ties to the Legion of Vega and the underbelly of the Draconis Combine. They came into pre-eminence during the Third Succession War as they began producing spare parts and repair kits for many existing machines. It then began full scale production of BattleMechs while working with the Eleventh Legion of Vega, leading to the creation of new upgrade kits for the popular Crusader and the creation of the new No-Dachi.
While often embroiled in legal issues, Cosby is a reliable trade partner for the DCMS. Even during the dark days of the Jihad, Cosby BattleMech and Myomer complied with a request to move their production facilities and headquarters off Vega to Kajijazawa. This helped keep the company going while producing weapons for a struggling DCMS, all the while generating massive employment for a region of space generally poorer than average.
Recent History
Cosby BattleMech and Myomer grew and established their Kajikazawa facilities since the Jihad, unlike many “2nd tier corporations” in the Combine. While the military drawdown ordered by the Republic of the Sphere affected the likes of LexaTech Industries, Cosby coasted with the DCMS saying they needed to still “find their footing”. Providing simple designs to the military and their allies, Cosby kept production up and generated a lot of employment for Kajikazawa, which the planetary government supported.
The Republic of the Sphere asked Cosby to reopen their Vegan facilities in the late 31st century, and Cosby agreed to do so in 3101. Production ramped up and they were ready for full scale production when the Combine collapsed the planetary economy in a ploy to retake the world. Cosby managed to keep their assets secure for a time, but as the planetary government collapsed, they shuddered their facilities rather than support any local warlord.
When relative peace returned to Vega, Cosby was approached by the new Vegan Protectorate government. They agreed to restart the production at the plant in exchange for concessions including massive tax breaks. These concessions were kept when the government moved over to being a province of the Rasalhague Dominion.

The facilities on Kajikazawa are now fully operational with a full staff of decently skilled individuals. Supply lines to the factory have been improved since Gray Monday and the ISF keeps a close eye on what they are doing, just in case.
BattleMechs
Vega
The Vega facilities of Cosby were reactivated by the Republic of the Sphere in the early 32nd century. During the troubles of the 3130s, the facility was shuddered as the company did not want to take part in the fighting. Under the Ghost Bear rule, Cosby has been producing equipment mostly for mercenary customers and shipping them to the Combine through an underground railroad.

Cosby BattleMech and Myomer Research Firm is on the cutting edge when it comes to BattleMech internals but are lacking the advanced orbital endo-steel mills required to build that material. The material is imported from other sources in the Combine, limiting their output of some more advanced models. They are fully capable of building all forms of standard fusion engines, heat sinks and especially triple strength myomer, which is one of their big-ticket items. They have not setup any specialized armor foundries, as it has not been needed.
