Ulric Kerensky was the Khan of Clan Wolf at the start of Operation REVIVAL before he was raised to the esteemed rank of ilKhan after the death of Leo Showers. While his actions during the second part of the Clan Invasion were viewed as a positive for the Clans as a whole, he lost his position as ilKhan with the loss at Tukayyid. As a skilled politician, Kerensky tried to have another Warden clan win the next election for ilKhan but the council had already more or less decided that Clan Snow Raven was the way of the future. Returned down to the rank of Star Colonel, Ulric was accepted as an Executive Officer and Planner within ilKhan Lynn McKenna’s Reformation Council.

A New Election
On his trip back from the Battle of Tukayyid, Ulric Kerensky knew his time as ilKhan was coming to an end. His primary objective during the weeks and months of travel back to the Homeworlds was to arrange for a friendly Clan to take the leadership of the Council. While he knew Sullivan Koga of the Coyotes, the two had never directly interacted or worked together. Kerensky still decided to put his support behind him and sent messages back and forth as the CWS Dire Wolf was bringing him back to Strana Mechty.
Kerensky also sent messages to other Khans and saKhans he deemed friendly or at least neutral to the Warden cause. His interactions with Lynn McKenna during that time was overall positive, as the Snow Raven Khan agreed that the Truce of Tukayyid needed to be upheld and that the Clans needed time to adjust. Din Steiner of the Cloud Cobras told Kerensky that there was low probabilities that either the Falcons of Smoke Jaguars would take the ilKhanship which reassured Ulric.
Ulric Kerensky was put on a quick trial before the next ilKhan election, but was found mostly blameless for what had happened. His record both as Khan of the Wolves and as ilKhan was positive and the victory the Wolves had claimed on Tukayyid was in part due to Ulric Kerensky’s foresight and guidance, which most of the other Clans refused to acknowledge. Ulric’s last appeal before the election was for the assembled Khans to acknowledge the Truce of Tukayyid and work on improving the Clans before trying anything else against the Inner Sphere.
As Part of the Reformation Council
The election of Lynn McKenna surprised Ulric Kerensky, who expected a more ardent member of either of the political factions to take the helm. Having been returned to the rank of Star Colonel, Ulric expected to work with Natasha Kerensky and Phelan Ward in improving the Wolves. This only lasted a few months, however, before the ilKhan called him up to join her personal council, later known as the Clan Reformation Council.
Along with members of all the other Clans (except Fire Mandrill and Blood Spirit, at first), Ulric studied and developed plans for the Clans to be better suited at their task of reforming the Star League. Ulric’s primary position were always based on the Warden ideal, which contrasted with a lot of the other members of the Council who were more radical in the changes they wanted to see. Star Colonel Kerensky opposed some of the reforms which focused more on arming the Clans, but often supported and counselled plans to liberalize the Clan economy and integrate Inner Sphere citizens within the Clan system. ilKhan Lynn McKenna saw Ulric Kerensky as one of the most effective member of her council and by the early 3060s, Kerensky replaced the ilKhan in some meetings as she was busy with other tasks.
Personal Life
Ulric Kerensky was one of the better politicians and soclal engineer during the time leading up to the Clan Invasion. His dedication to the Warden cause led even the most ardent Crusader to support some of his points of view. He led by example more than by edict, which is another thing which won him significant support over the years. While frugal and minimalistic like many warriors of his era, Ulric made sure that everything he owned was of the best quality possible and the best craftsmanship possible.
Ulric Kerensky’s BattleMech
Ulric Kerensky pilots a Gargoyle, liking the Primary configuration quite a bit.
