Marthe Pryde grew in popularity and influence AFTER the Battle of Tukayyid, unlike many other Clan warriors involved in Operation REVIVAL. With the leadership of Clan Jade Falcon trying to maintain their influence and power using political maneuvering, the more hardcore warriors rallied behind figureheads like Marthe Pryde in the difficult times of the Clan Reformation. By the end of the Truce of Tukayyid, she had become Khan of the Jade Falcon and a detractor of the Snow Raven’s ideals, although she knew better than to oppose them.
Early Life
Marthe Pryde started her life in a high quality sibko in Clan Jade Falcon, mixing the Pryde and Mattlov bloodline. She was always at the head of her creche, always a tad bit ahead of her sibkin Aidan. She distanced herself from the rest of her crew and steeled herself for the upcoming Trial of Position as she aged and progressed in her training. Due to Aidan Pryde’s strange decision to break zellbrigen during the Blooding, she managed to achieve two kills and graduated as a Star Commander.

Time after the Fall
Unlike many Clan warriors who fought on Tukayyid, Marthe Pryde managed to keep most of her honor and position. Her 2nd Jaeger had been instrumental in the retreat of the Jade Falcons off world and contributed on making the fight not a complete and utter failure (like you could see with the Diamond Sharks and Steel Vipers). On his way back to the Clan Homeworlds, Elias Crichell named Marthe Pryde the new Galaxy Commander of Delta Galaxy.
Galaxy Commander Pryde’s primary duty at the time was to secure the worlds held by Clan Jade Falcon, which she coordinated with other senior officers on the front to do. She met disgraced Star Colonel Nicolai Malthus for the first time during that period and enjoyed his company and his more radical observations towards the Federated Commonwealth. While they did not expand the Falcon’s realm at the time, the Falcon forces under Marthe managed to maintain occupation in the face of military and civilian pressure.
Reformation and saKhanship
Galaxy Commander Pryde grew in popularity after the election of Lynn McKenna as ilKhan mostly due to her opposition to some of the Clan Reformation edicts. While she was quite happy to support some of the new positions put forward by the ilKhan, the sharing of conquests and liberalization of some of the lower castes were a bit much for Marthe, who voiced her displeasure at the higher levels. While this put her at odds with Elias Crichell and Vandervahn Chistu, this made her more popular with the rank and file of the Jade Falcons and even amongst the other invader Clans. She was invited on a few occasions to debate her positions in the Clan High Council, with the ilKhan even acquiescing to some of her demands.
After Khan Elias Crichell’s accidental death, there was no other options than for the new Khan, Vandervahn Chistu, to name Marthe Pryde as saKhan due to her popularity and personality. The two never really saw eye to eye, but they both understood what would be best for Clan Jade Falcon and supported the expansion of the Clan Occupation Zone. This put her at odds with the three primary Federated Commonwealth officers in the region, Adam Steiner, Bishop Sortek and Jackson Davion. While maintaining the pressure on the Federated Commonwealth front, Marthe used assets from her own clan and now even other Clans to take a few worlds near the core region, improving her status once again.
Climbing to the top
Vandervahn Chistu’s death in 3065 while fighting on the front put Marthe cleanly in the Khan’s chair. Her first act was to select Nicholai Malthus as her saKhan, the man having redeemed himself and the Malthus bloodline since the Truce of Tukayyid. Quickly afterwards, she started establishing a distinction between her Clan and the “reformed Clans”, staking a claim that the Jade Falcons had performed acts beyond that of other Clans in defense of the state, meaning that they should be rewarded appropriately for it. Compared to the more conciliant Crichell and Chistu, this was a departure for the Jade Falcon as a whole and put her at odds with Clan Snow Raven and others.
Personal Life
Marthe Pryde is a consummate professional, but she does have her “fun side”. She has taken a liking to collecting and drinking two things from the Inner Sphere: alcohol and coffee. While both those are available in Clan territory, the variety and taste profiles in the Inner Sphere are far wider and Marthe has taken a pleasure in trading what she can to get access to several unusual products.
While she tries to stay aloof of her “origins”, Marthe is quite close to Aidan Pryde’s progeny and is proud of what her sibkin managed to accomplish.
Marthe Pryde’s BattleMech
Marthe Pryde uses a Summoner since her Blooding, a ‘mech that was so damaged and repaired she named it Theseus.
