Hollis had long been on the verge of bankruptcy during the Succession Wars. Their primary source of revenue was selling repair kits and upgrade kits for existing machines, focusing heavily on their one successful design, the Catapult. With the damage done to their facilities during the Second Succession War, the only thing they built was the HGN-733 Highlander under license from StarCorps. By the start of the Fourth Succession War, they were not even able to maintain production of this and were looking, once again, for a bail out.
That bail out came from an unforeseen source, with the Federated Suns and Lyran Commonwealth repairing and upgrading their production lines. Hollis took advantage of a variety of loans and other repayment schemes from the Federated crown, disguising it as “stealing money from the invaders” to the more loyal Capellan citizens. By the time of Operation GUERRERO and the Capellan throne retaking Corey, Hollis was producing advanced equipment and battlemech, albeit by importing some of the more complex parts.
Recent History
Damage done by the Word of Blake forces in 3081 was quickly repaired by Hollis as they repatriated equipment from their secondary Tsinghai facility. By the mid 3080s, production of Huron Warriors, BattleMasters and Catapult had resumed in full. Plans were set in place to further expand that facilities and introduce new upgraded versions of older models, including restarting production of the Highlander in full. The Capellan government was happy to buy equipment from Hollis as long as they proved loyal.
The only minor drawback Hollis faced was a raid by the Eight Free Worlds Legionnaire in 3125. Overall, they lost 9 months of production of spare parts for the Catapult and BattleMaster. Hollis has been investing mostly in upgrading their facility on Tsinghai now. They were ordered to reopen the production lines by Daoshen Liao himself, at the behest of the planetary government.
Manufacturing
Corey
The Corey plant has been working at full effectiveness since at least 3079, expanding itself to keep up the demand of CCAF and associated mercenary commands. Their flagship model remains the Huron Warrior, but demand for the Catapult remains extremely high.
BattleMech
- Huron Warrior
- Osprey
- Catapult
- Catapult II
- Battlemaster (BLR-4L)
- Highlander (HGN-733, HGN-732, HGN-732b)
- Xanthos (4O, 5O, 6O)
Tsinghai
The Tsinghai facility of Hollis was shuddered at the end of the Jihad as there was no requirement for retrotech weapons anymore. Local government officials petitioned the Chancellor to reopen the factory to ensure full employment on their world (and increase tax revenue) and in 3132, Daoshen Liao ordered Hollis to restart production.

Effective Technology Level
Hollis is not the best equipped company in the Capellan Confederation, originally importing most of their endo-steel from larger manufacturers. It wasn’t until the start of the 32nd century that they were able to invest in their own orbital manufacturing equipment. While they produce stealth armor, it is under license from Shengli Arms and not a proprietary compound. They have been manufacturing advanced engines and heat sinks since at least the mid-3050s and have a good grasp of that particular technology, however.
Hollis does not manufacture any Clan-graded equipment.
