Arc-Royal MechWorks is a large weapons manufacturer controlled by the Kell Hounds mercenary outfit. The company is independent from any major power after it was liberated by Callandre Kell. Arc-Royal MechWorks has absorbed other manufacturers on the planet of Arc-Royal and has been providing equipment to “renegades, rebels and malcontents” throughout the Inner Sphere.
Recent History
Under Clan Management
Arc-Royal had been under full control of Clan Jade Falcon as of early 3147. Local resistance cells and partisans made it difficult for the Falcons to hold the world. Malvina Hazen saw the value of the various weapon production plants on the world. Even the staunch Mongol Warrior kept the facilities up and running with what she could. Sabotage and attacks on transport and raw material shortages did limit just how much the combined facilities could produce. Most production lines were left in abeyance or were retooled for more critical equipment that the Jade Falcon needed for their upcoming Battle for Terra.
Retaking their world
Callandre Kell led a ragtag group of Kell Hounds to retake her world. She was faced with a solahma commander called Star Colonel Riss, who began a campaign of mass destruction and murder to push the Hounds off world. The whole thing ended with a duel between the two officers, with Kell killing him through an artillery strike as he refused to surrender.
Arc-Royal MechWorks facilities were in almost pristine condition after these events, but there was a massive lack of personnel to man them. Using part of the Kell family fortune, Callandre opened “skilled worker migration” visas to restart the operations as quickly as possible. The 4 WC sites which were on Arc-Royal were also merged into the ARMW operation, as Callandre saw no reason to keep them separate now that the Wolves had left them behind.
The leadership of Arc-Royal MechWorks favored the production of “big budget” items first, with the Timber Wolf production line being restarted as quickly as possible. A production line which had been building Arctic Foxes had been retooled to produce Kit Foxes by the Jade Falcons, and a new version of the Arctic Fox began production from it. Sales numbers were going up quickly, as local mercenary units gravitated towards Arc-Royal as the Lyran retook Melissia and the Falcons settled down in their newly christened Aerie.
By 3155, ARMW is operating at about 70% of their maximum output, concentrating still on “big ticket items”.

Effective technology level
Arc-Royal MechWorks’s main facilities mainly manufacture equipment to Inner Sphere standard, but thanks to Clan Jade Falcon, they have expanded to have access to some basic Clan structural elements. Their orbital endo-steel mills are also capable of manufacturing both Clan and Inner Sphere endo-steel components, and with no “distinction” between the old Wolf Clan facilities and ARMW facilities, the materials are now built mostly to the better standard.
The facilities which used to belong to Clan Wolf mainly manufacture Clan-graded equipment. With the integration of the company with these manufacturing plants, some components which are “simpler” to build have been shared.
Clan-graded equipment which are manufactured on Arc-Royal include:
- Endo-steel
- Ferro-fibrous
- Double Heat Sinks
- ER Lasers
- Pulse lasers
- ER PPC
- Production of missile weapons is too limited to be “mass-produced”
ARMW Defense Protocols
ARMW Defense Protocols is a private security contractor “sponsored” by Arc-Royal MechWorks. Rather than relying exclusively on the Kell Hounds for defense, the CEO of ARMW hired a disgraced Albert Heidegger who had lost most of his unit in the fighting against the Pinkertons on Alyina. What was left of his Lone Wolf “mercenary commune” was reformed into a PSC with definite orders to defend the ARMW facilities and personel.
Heidegger had a good number of pilots but very few machines after the debacle on Alyina, and most of the unit is now equipped with machines built locally by ARMW. The equipment belongs to ARMW still and is “on loan” to Heidegger and his crew, basically making sure they remain on the planet to defend it against aggressors. Raiders already attempted to attack a warehouse in 3154, and were stopped “with extreme prejudice” by Heidegger.
ARMW Defense Protocols Paint Scheme
ARMW Defense Protocols have taken to painting their ‘Mechs blue, red and orange, like the logo of Arc-Royal MechWorks. Flames are often included on their machine’s shoulders.
