Marik Militia Brigade Army Composition

The Marik Militias are the center of the Free Worlds League Military, but at the start of the Fifth Succession War, they were mainly deployed throughout the realm rather than on the front of Operation GUERRERO. One of the largest single military commands, it was under the command of Samuel Garibaldi which organized it from his headquarters on Bernardo. As the war escalated with attacks on the League by the First Lyran Guard, the headquarters were moved to Tamarind, where they remained until the end of the war. The Marik Militias were still mainly organized like they were during the previous succession wars and had not been prioritized for new equipment as some other regional commands. This turned around as the war went on and by 3062, the Marik Militias were receiving fully modern ‘mechs and upgrade kits for their existing machines.
Veteran pilots in the Marik Militias usually have the SPA Eagle’s Eyes, Melee Specialist or Multi-Tasker. Elite pilots in the Marik Militias often have the Sniper, Melee Master or Street Fighter SPA.
The Marik Militias have access to 3 detachments that are quite simple:
- Scout detachments skew lighter than most and is meant to serve as cavalry units and recon elements. Light ‘mechs and Fast mediums (5/8 with Jump Jets or 6/9) are considered Core units, while slower mediums and fast heavies (4/6 with jump jets or 5/8) are considered Special units. All other ‘mechs fall into the Rare category.
- Battle detachments follow the old Succession War standards for front-line units and skew lighter than most Clan Invasion era units. Core units for this detachment are ‘mechs between 30 and 65 tons. Lighter ‘mechs are considered Special choices while heavier ‘mechs are considered Rare choices.
- Assault detachments are meant to be used both as heavy defensive formations and to break enemy defenses. Core units in these formations are ‘mechs ‘mechs 70 tons or heavier, while Special choices are ‘Mechs between 45 and 65 tons. Any lighter ‘mechs are considered Rare choices.
As an additional limitation, selections in units prior to 3062 are 1 rarity higher if they are post-3050 designs.
