Trenton Marik

A young-ish officer in the Free Worlds League Military, Trenton Marik is somewhat distant relation to the Marik family. Not coasting on his family name, he went by the name Trenton Johns originally while in training. He also exhibits a strong sense of ethics and chivalrous honor. With very good combat experience for his age, he is compared favorably to many Clan MechWarriors. His biggest issue is how he tends to strike friendships with odd individuals, including the likes of Gavin Stewart.

Training and the Wolves

Trenton “Jones” trained originally at the Allison MechWarrior Institute. He had to hide his identity so the school personnel would not give him special privileges. Even doing that, Trenton still managed to be one of the star pupils of the program. When New Olympia was invaded by Clan Wolf, Trenton helped the instructors defend the fleeing students in his Rifleman. This earned him the respect of his peers and many noble families.

Trenton finished his official training at the Princefield Military Academy, where he associated more often with the “proles” than his fellow blue-bloods. This gave Trenton a real “man of the people” look. After his graduation, he was given a captain billet with the First Free Worlds Guards.

Serving the Eagle

Trenton Marik performed various administrative and command tasks while with the First. His combat reflexes were kept sharp by acting as an aggressor for various other FWLM units, including members of the Clan Protectorate. The First Free Worlds Guards had a few skirmishes with the Wolf Empire where Trenton performed exceptionally.

The next big step for The First (and Trenton) was right after the Battle of Terra. With the Wolf Empire unguarded, the FWLM decided to perform some probing strikes to recover some of the worlds lost in the past. The unit was mobilized to the old “Silver Hawk Coalition” worlds after the Silver Hawk Irregulars had illegally tried reclaiming these worlds. The remaining Wolf garrisons and off-world reinforcements made this difficult, of course. Trenton did manage to participate in multiple planetary assaults, including the return of Stewart into the Free Worlds League as the corporate powers on site transitioned the world into his personal hands.

Current situation

Trenton is stationed at Ionus with the command of the First Guards, where they originally planned an invasion of New Olympia before an official cease-fire was signed with the Wolf Empire. His unit has been on alert since then due to internal affairs of one Gavin Stewart and the Clan Protectorate.

Trenton Marik’s BattleMech

Trenton Marik has stayed out of politics as much as possible. However, with the growing political tensions between the 3 major “Marik parties”, he might be forced to take a side. The more militaristic Fontaine Marik has been making advances in that matter.

Trenton originally piloted a Rifleman he called “Habeas Corpus”. During his operations against Clan Wolf, his machine was replaced with a Rifleman C Mark 3.
