Sterling McKenna, Clan Snow Raven, Raven Alliance, Federated Suns

Sterling McKenna has been a political animal since her graduating from her sibko. Manipulating her way into a Star Colonel position in her Blooding, she kept the pressure up her entire life, even though she downplayed it until she won her bloodname in 3129. Her direct contact and relationship with two rulers of House Davion, Harrison and Caleb, placed her in an odd position. This was, however, part of her scheme, which is just now coming to fruition.

Ascension of an ilKhan

Sterling McKenna supported the New Star League quickly. During her trip to Terra to celebrate the ascension of Alaric Ward, she discussed the situation with saKhan Chance Vickers (internal) and Falcon’s Khan Stephanie Chistu (internal). A peaceful agreement was taken between the three women. Far from the core of the Inner Sphere, the Raven Alliance had few things at stake in the general area.

Returning to Alpheratz, Khan McKenna had to convince the other members of her clan of the good the New Star League would bring. She had to fight a few Trials of Refusal directly, but the general situation was popular with the average Clan member. The Outworlds Alliance citizens were apathetic to the situation in general, as long as the Star League promised not to attack them.

A War Against the Dragon

Sterling McKenna launched a plan to reduce the pressure on Clan Wolf from external forces as the Capellan – Star League war started after the Battle of Yorii. The Federated Suns were already preparing their Reconquista against the Kuritan, and the Raven Alliance began combat operation on their border with the Combine to make sure the Kuritan would not attack the New Star League.

This had another benefit, as Sterling McKenna’s prestige increased in the Federated Suns. McKenna’s original plan was to establish her control over House Davion to help strengthen Clan Snow Raven. Sterling’s three “bloodchildren”, each created with her own genetic material and the material from Harrison and Caleb Facion, put these as contenders to the Davion throne. On top of this, McKenna has “technically” a claim to the Terran Hegemony from her own bloodhouse.

War in her own backyard

While the Kurita and Davion signed a peace treaty, Sterling began approaching more nobles in House Davion to strengthen the claim of her children to the throne, with Alexander Hasek (internal) being quite interested. Before she could make more moves, however, strange tidings started coming from her spinward holding. ‘Mechs with markings from two dead clans, the Fire Mandrills and Blood Spirits, had begun strikes against the Raven Alliance. Putting her children in front-line units to gain fame and honor, Sterling believed this could be another good thing for her position in the Inner Sphere.
