Renee Smythe was head of the new Kindraa Smythe-Payne in the early part of the 32^nd century, before becoming Khan of the Fire Mandrills in 3143. Known for her patience and bridge building ability, she represents the Fire Mandrills of this new era. Her military experience is still limited, but throughout her career, she took all opportunities open to her to get “real world experience”, taking 2 tours aboard Burrock ships and participating in joint training exercises as much as possible.

Head of Smythe-Payne

The original Kindraa Smythe-Jewel had been dismantled in 2872. It was recreated in Union space as the Smythe and Payne bloodhouse united and rearranged their troops into a coherent military unit. Renee Smythe started her military career as a Star Captain with a fantastic Blooding. Taking opportunities to grow as a commander and a warrior, she was rewarded quickly with a Star Colonel position within her Kindraa when a position opened with someone retiring. In 3138, Renee Smythe challenged for the position of Galaxy Commander of her Kindraa under the watchful eye of the Prime Minister’s Office and won the position in an unaugmented trial.

Khanship

The Khan position opened when Cornell Sainze was incapacitated due to an illness. Renee Smythe levied her position as one of the younger heads of a Kindraa to try to gain the position, along with her close ties with Olivander Amaris. Her military experience weighed heavily in the balance as well, as the Fire Mandrill were seeing the writing on the wall about the future Inner Sphere strikes.

One of the first action Renee Smythe took was to arrange wargames against The Wolverines, hoping to learn from Foxtrot Whitfeld. These military exercises were repeated against other members of the Union, along with being done internally to increase the readiness of all Kindraas. By the time the strikes were called for, Renee Smythe took the lead in bidding for the chance to strike out against the Raven Alliance. She viewed this as an opportunity to expand the reach of her Clan and settle new regions of space for her Kindraa.
