Oracle DiNozzo was raised from his youth on Atreus to become a ComStar adept, and participated proudly in the Jihad before even his 20th birthday. A member of the Toyama faction, Oracle is a hardliner who believes Conrad Toyama did not go far enough in his actions. Kept alive mainly by cyberimplants and advanced genetic engineering, the Precentor Martial wants to see the entire Inner Sphere burn before he passes on.
Youth in Flames
At 10 years old, Oracle was already making pipebombs for the cause. At 12, he was featured prominently on a Word of Blake recruitment poster. The young DiNozzo saw the good the Word of Blake could bring to the Inner Sphere already, mostly through the eradication of the corrupt elements preventing the ascension of mankind to the ideals of Blake. The strings of crushing defeats by the forces of the Word of Blake at the tail end of the Jihad only made the young man’s resolve stronger, especially when he saw the destruction of Gibson. Joining a Blakist remnant group, Oracle performed various acts of terrorism before his group was ultimately discovered and forced into another exile. This is when he was scooped up by the Wolverines, and the Wolverine Union.
Precentor in Exile
As a good example of the follower of Toyama, Oracle DiNozzo found a good position within the new Word of Blake worlds, commanding a small unit of troops trained to serve as a new Shadow Division. That is where he was taken under the wing of Precentor Omega Eligos, who saw much promise in him. Illegal military action against other members of the Union was the bread and butter of the reborn 50th Shadow Division, giving all its members valuable combat experience.
By 3113, Eligos had become the Precentor Martial of the new Word of Blake, with Oracle being his right-hand man. Both men had a lot of resentment towards the Inner Sphere and planned direct strikes against the Federated Suns and Capellan Confederation. This was vetoed by the Union high council, which still granted them enough resources to form various terrorist organizations in the Inner sphere, like the Kittery Resistance and the White Hand. These terrorist cells would become a key element in the Word of Blake strategy.
It was Eligos’ own folly which led to his downfall and for Oracle DiNozzo to replace him. In a bid to secure more resources and power for the Word of Blake, Eligos planted a nuclear device in a dropship which was meant to bring supplies to the Steel Vipers. The device was found by a routine check by border security at the jump point, and the ship destroyed by sending it into the sun. Eligos was brought up on charges before the Union Council and executed. Oracle denied any knowledge of the plot and swore allegiance to the Amaris crown to keep his life but was given the position of Precentor Martial.
To Strike at the Beast
The Word of Blake was ready to take on strikes against the Inner Sphere very early but were kept back by the Union policy. With the Blackout, many Blakists saw the divine punishment of Blake against the Inner Sphere. This was a sign for them to act, but it was delayed still as more members of the Order came from the Inner Sphere and needed to be integrated into the new society.
As Precentor Martial, Oracle found the best members of this new crop to form new “lower-tier” Level IVs, closer to what the Word of Blake Militia had been. Through careful reorganization, he brought the military of the Order to something comparable to all the Exile Clans and could ask to join the strikes against the Inner Sphere as they were planned. Unfortunately, the leaders selected to perform such strikes were found wholly inadequate, leaving DiNozzo in a tough situation.
Oracle DiNozzo’s BattleMech
Oracle DiNozzo piloted a Seraph omnimech but hasn’t done so in decades now.
