Marek Dzuiba was the commander of the 8th Avalon Hussar and patriarch of House Dzuiba before his untimely death at the hands of ISF agents in 3154. He was a military officer specialized in counterraid and counter-insurgency tactics. His loyalties stood with House Hasek, but he had a grudging respect for Erik Sandoval (internal) and found pride in serving the Federated Suns during the Davion Reconquista.
Operation CELESTIAL REWARD
With his unit stationed on Kathil, Marek Dzuiba faced the might of the CCAF during their mid-3140s strikes against the Capellan March. His main opponent at that time was the 7th Capellan Charger’s Zeno Laskaris (internal). While the Chargers were successful in many of their objectives, it was through the cunning of Leftenant-General Dzuiba that damage to GM’s facilities on Kathil were limited. While the Federated Suns lost multiple worlds during the assault, Marek Dzuiba was credited with fortifying various important worlds and managing a defense in depth.
Davion Reconquista
Marek Dzuiba did not want to leave the Capellan March for the Davion Reconquista, and only left after a direct appeal by Julian Davion (internal) and, more importantly, by Kym Hasek (internal). First Prince Davion did not want to waste General Dzuiba’s skills on the front line, giving him command of various “rear guard” units, focusing on protecting the supply lines and production facilities near the Draconis front.
While he was successful, his presence attracted the attention of the ISF, who sent a DEST unit to strike directly at Marek Dzuiba’s headquarters. While most of the Kurita commandos were killed, General Dzuiba was critically wounded, falling into a coma. 6 days later, he was declared medically dead, leaving his eldest son as commander of the 8th Avalon Hussar.
Marek Dzuiba’s Battlemech
Marek Dzuiba piloted an Enforcer III for most of his career.
