Julien Emerson-Green grew up in a devastated 3rd Crucis Lancer, serving first as an apprentice under a mercenary under the employ of the 3rd Crucis until he saved enough money to get his own MechWarrior aptitude test, which led him to get officer training at Point Barrow Military Academy. A no-nonsense officer, Major General Emerson-Green was stuck in the rebuilding of an entire RCT. He has very good leadership skills, but his frontline experience is lacking, same as his troops.
Republic Era and Dark Age
The 3rd Crucis Lancers was mostly stationed in the Capellan March during the late Republic Era. When the HPG Network collapsed, the then Colonel Green commanded his ‘mech battalion to spread out on a few worlds to make sure insurgencies and piracy would not be on the rise. This made him look very good in the eyes of the AFFS leadership, contributing to his elevation to the rank of General when the previous 3rd Crucis commander retired. This “spread out defense” remained the standard deployment for the Lancers at that time, rather than being used as an offensive unit.
Operation CELESTIAL REWARD
Julien Emerson-Green did not serve directly on the front as the CCAF performed strikes during Operation CELESTIAL REWARD. Monitoring the defense of multiple worlds, General Emerson-Green managed to prevent multiple raids from smaller CCAF units along with regional pirate forces. Sadly, this also showed just how unready the 3rd Lancers were when faced with an actual opponent.
Julien Emerson-Green struck luck when Andrea Chapman (internal) was forced to retreat her own 1st Federated Suns Armored Cavalry to his home base on Tawas. While the 1st Armored was rebuilding, the two generals forced their units to drill and train together. Chapman normally took the role of aggressor due to her unit’s talent at raiding and rapid warfare, which was a great counter to the aggressive, yet more direct, talent of the 3rd Crucis.
Davion Reconquista
Having trained his troops for close to 10 years while performing minor strikes against Capellan targets and defending against raiders himself, Julien Emerson-Green could finally say his troops were ready for action. When Julian Davion (internal) called for all available troops to meet with him and Erik Sandoval (internal) to retake lost territory on the Draconis Front, the 3rd Crucis were proud to join in. While the 1st Armored served as a hammer, the 3rd Crucis served as an impassible anvil against DCMS troops. The still rather untested 3rd Crucis and Julien Emerson-Green proved their worth, just in time for their Major General to start contemplating retirement and a passing of the torch to a younger generation.
