Heidar Nelson is the great-grandson of the founder of Nelson’s Longbow (internal), and technically the military commander of New St. Andrews. With a significant landhold on the planet, Heidar Nelson does everything in his power to keep his troops and the local clans (Scottish, not Clan Clan) happy. A competent officer, he is known for his dedication to the people of New St. Andrews and keeping the peace between the clans.

Early career

Heidar Nelson grew up a “mercenary brat”. Rather than going to a high-end training facility, he trained and was shaped by his father’s friends and hired mentors. Originally provided a smaller Trebuchet, Nelson cut his teeth on pirates raiding New St. Andrews. After his father retired, Heidar took the position of Major in the Longbows, along with his father’s ‘Mech. During the Battle of Crecy City, Heidar’s LongBow destroyed 3 pirate ‘Mechs, along with 2 tanks.

Facing the Vipers

Hartford Zalman’s Alpha Galaxy slammed into New St. Andrews in October 3153. This was part of the first strikes against the Inner Sphere by the Wolverine Union. Combining his troops and the planetary militia, Heidar managed to perform a decent defense in depth, but was overwhelmed. His final stand at the Meridian Manufacturing headquarters earned his unit the honor of being added to the Steel Viper’s Remembrance.
