Gavin Stewart is officially the Count of Stewart. However, he was not in charge of this world until much later in his life. Viewing Clan Wolf as having denied his birthright, Stewart helped equip the Silver Hawk Irregulars. He later led attacks against the Wolf Empire with their help. Without a head for military strategy, Count Gavin Stewart’s entire understanding of strategy is limited to “shock and awe” and “overwhelm them”. This, combined with his lack of political acumen, has led to many problems in his life.
Striking against the Wolves
As the Wolves had left for the Battle of Terra, Count Stewart saw a perfect opportunity to reclaim his world. The 11th Wolf Garrison, led by Star Colonel Lamar, did not stand much of a chance against 2 regiments of combined arms units. Unfortunately for Gavin, this easy victory fell through his fingers as Khan Rikkard Rwabdogo of the Nova Cats brought his troops to rescue the Wolf warriors.
The attack on Stewart had not been sanctioned by the Free Worlds League Parliament. This was viewed as a criminal action by the Clan Protectorate. Fighting for their life, the Silver Hawk Irregulars were defeated and pushed back to their old outposts. Gavin’s BattleMaster was heavily damaged, and the count was out of action for a year while a new hand was grown for him
Sitting on Stewart
Trenton Marik (internal) was the one who finally recaptured Stewart, which had been abandoned by the Wolves. Nikol Marik (internal) granted Gavin Stewart his seat as the count of Stewart officially, but the population was not interested in following him. They much preferred the younger, and more charismatic, Trenton Marik. Corporate powers on Stewart began petitioning Parliament to have Gavin removed from power and replaced as well. In response, Gavin Stewart began deploying the Silver Hawk Irregulars and his mercenaries to suppress protest, while also banning any press critical of him.
With funds funneled by The Society, the Count was propped up from that point onwards. Assets from the Society began appearing in the inventory of the Count’s loyalists. The Silver Hawk Coalition, with Gavin at its head, believe they can even become their own nation.
