Erik Sandoval, circa 3154

Eric Sandoval had limited trust in the capabilities of the First Prince Julian Davion (internal). From the very start of his career, Eric Sandoval-Groell worked hard to reconquer and re-establish the Federated Suns as a central power in the Inner Sphere, but Julian’s more diplomatic approach contrasts with his own at time. Luckily, both men have strong respect for each other, and want the same thing in the end: for the Federated Suns to start shining again.

During and right after the Battle of Terra, both Julian Davion and Erik Sandoval were not sure what they should do with the calls for help from the Republic of the Sphere. Eric had lost many friends and battles to the Republic and had little love for it, and he also wasn’t sure what to expect from the new Wolf ilClan. With their armies overextended and their population not certain of their future either, Julian Davion began playing the diplomat to his own people while Erik Sandoval would keep the pressure on the Dragon.

Davion Reconquista

The strategy worked better than both men expected. With the Capellan Confederation in a war unlike any of recent memory against the New Star League and the Rimward Alliance consolidating itself against potential Andurien/Canopian threats, Erik Sandoval could call upon the full might of the AFFS in their fight to retake the Dragon’s Tongue. While the First Prince would act as a figurehead retaking New Avalon and other key worlds, Erik Sandoval moved in the back, raiding supply lines, capturing secondary targets and staking a larger claim for the Federated Suns.

The grudging respect between the two heads of the Federated Suns grew into a true friendship as the operation went on, with Siobhan Sortek (internal) acting as an intermediary between the two. As Matsuhari Toranaga (internal) was forced off Plymouth, a photo-op where the two men shook hands in front of their (repaired) BattleMechs made the rounds across the Inner Sphere.

Snakes in the grass

Erik Sandoval still has trust issues with other members of the Davion cabinet and other field marshalls. Alexander Hasek’s miraculous return arose suspicions from the Prince’s Champion, especially when he manipulated his way into recreating the defunct St.Ives Compact. With the relaxing of matters on the Combine front, Erik Sandoval starts investigating more into what is going on at the top of the Federated Suns political elites.

Battlemech

Erik Sandoval being a front-line commander, he has lost more ‘mechs than many. Last machine he lost was an Axman which was replaced by a Templar III.
