Emerson Vincent (born Emerson Yusuf Mohammed) is the commanding officer of the First Free Worlds Guards. He serves with the First Guards since his graduation from the Allison MechWarrior Institute. The loss of New Olympia to Clan Wolf has hurt him, but he has not let his personal feelings take over his actions. He is known to be even-handed in his leadership, promoting the most competent officers rather than those well connected politically.

Recent history

Emerson took command of the First Guards after their commanding officer was killed in fights against the Wolf Empire. Stationed on Ionus, he rebuilt most of his unit from various commands which suffered losses recently. He swore allegiance to the reborn Free Worlds League and Jessica Marik in 3140. The unit drilled in order to be at peak readiness for upcoming conflicts.

Successes against the Wolves

Emerson Vincent’s chance came after the Battle of Terra. The Wolf forces vacated the Empire for the ilClan trial, giving the FWLM an opening. The first strikes were done “illegally” by the likes of the Silver Hawk Irregulars. Emerson and his Guards waited until Nikol Marik passed a resolution in parliament to mobilize. They mobilized as quickly as possible, moving into the former Marik-Stewart Commonwealth to liberate the worlds that wanted it. Colonel Vincent succeeded in most of his operations, but losses started piling over time. He retreated to his homebase to resupply when they received the stand down order from Parliament.

Current history

Emerson Vincent drills his troops after resupplying, making them ready for further operations against Clan Wolf. His focus, however, is now on the border of the Silver Hawk Coalition and Clan Protectorate. The Colonel fears a civil war between the two provinces could break out at any moment. Focused on the military, he has been approached by Fontaine Marik to guarantee the loyalty of his unit to the Free Worlds League.
