Drakuun Heisenberg would never have been allowed to be in power normally, but even Stefan Amaris needed people telling him he was making mistakes. A minor politician born in the Rim Worlds Republic, Drakuun Heisenberg grew to prominence thanks to his affable attitude and his no-nonsense approach to life. Catching the eye of Stefan Amaris, Drakuun Heisenberg was brought in the inner circle of the Usurper and given the task to prepare for the worst.
Amaris Coup
During Operation APOTHEOSIS, Drakuun Heisenberg was ordered to squirrel away as much materiel and equipment as possible in the Rim Worlds Republic as it was being assaulted by the SLDF. Amaris sympathizers and other dissidents were slowly moved to a counter-spinward location, where Heisenberg provided information on where they would be moving going forward. The overall fleet included numerous WarShips, JumpShips and DropShips, both civilian and military, which reached an unmarked world near a Quasar.
Settling after the fall
Heisenberg’s action likely saved much of the Republic’s leadership and scientific knowledge. By the time most ships had reached what would become Promise, he knew that the Amaris Empire’s days were numbered. Capitalizing on this, he led a reform movement to modify the constitution of the Republic to be closer to that of an ancient Terran state, all the while keeping the Amaris family as the leaders of the nation. Those changes to the laws of the land increased the power of the Senate against that of Congress and the President, which was renamed First Minister as an associate to the Amaris “emperor in exile”.
Two Terms
Using much of the materiel brought with them, Drakuun Heisenberg focused on building as much infrastructure during his tenure as First Minister. Having already established a term limit for the position, Drakuun spent no real time campaigning or politicking during his reign. Much of his focus was on making sure the people of Promise were safe, and that new arrivals were given what they deserved. Drakuun’s work was rewarded with the approval of the population and leadership alike.
Later life
After his terms as First Minister, Drakuun Heisenberg retired in solitude to a house completely detached from the rest of the Promise colony. There, he wrote multiple political treatise, along with biographies of Stefan Amaris, Cynthia Amaris and Taborri Amaris. The last known work of Drakuun Heisenberg is the subversive “If I Were There”, where Drakuun explains how he would have led the Amaris Coup instead. Copied of these tomes are kept by the Greenhaven Gestapo and the Amaris family, and not available for public reading.
