David Humphreys (born Stanley) is the heir apparent to the Duchy of Andurien. One of the illegitimate sons of Ari Humphreys (internal), David Stanley was recognized officially as heir to the Duchy after his father married Ilsa Centrella (internal). Like his father, David idolizes the 20th century “rocker” culture, with his personal obsession being with the rock band Kiss. His second love is detailed analysis of BattleMech specifications.
Early life
A young military officer already, he had graduated of Humphreys Training Academy at that time. Rather than being given preferential treatment, David was given a commission as a lieutenant in the 2nd Andurien Guard. There, he learned how to become an aerospace fighter pilot to begin the testing of the new Starman Land-Air-Mech. Serving as a test pilot kept David out of harm’s way, which was quite satisfying for all those involved.
War on Mosiro
During the short conflict between Oriente and Andurien in 3138, David Humphreys was on Mosiro with the rest of the 2nd Andurien Guards. Fighting the Covenant Worlds 1st Expeditionary Force, David score multiple kills on armored vehicles and against a few ‘Mechs, but ultimately was captured. What came next was a massive rescue operation financed mainly by Ari Humphreys’ personal bank account, hiring mercenary units and providing them with advanced Andurien equipment to both test and rescue his offspring.
Two Operations in 3 Years
The 2nd Andurien rebuilt after this tragic incident, but David Humphreys was happy to remain “just a captain” of a specialized LAM unit. When Operation TRIUMVIR and Operation REBOUND were announced, the 2nd was still rebuilding its forces and served only as defensive units. David Humphreys’s unit was deployed in a few air-to-ground defense operations to prevent raids against Andurien assets, again showing courage under fire.
Andurien Law Enforcement Mission
After the death of Ilsa Centrella, David’s father mobilized the Andurien military for law enforcement and pacification of the Magistracy of Canopus. The 2nd Andurien Guard was assigned to the AWS Glass Spider, one of the brand-new Eagle-class Frigate. As a LAM pilot, David Humphreys served both on the planetary strike teams and as the fighter screen of the frigate.
