Dalia Bekker is the now quite-aged leader of Clan Ghost Bear, along with the military leader of the Rasalhague Dominion. She has little confidence in Alaric Ward (internal). However, she views the New Star League as a potential good thing for the entire Inner Sphere. In her old age, Dalia Bekker realizes she might not be in charge of Clan Ghost Bear much longer and is looking for a new leader to replace her. Unfortunately, she has issues with many of her top Galaxy Commanders.
A Vote of Confidence
After the Battle of Terra, Hjalmer Miraborg (internal) agreed with Dalia that a vote to join the Star League would be required within the Dominio. Neither of them expected the overwhelming support for the motion from the general population. This support came mainly from the general populace wanting a new stable central government like the Republic of the Sphere. This new alliance should have actual bite, which they could contribute to. The message stating that the Rasalhague Dominion would officially join the New Star League reached Alaric Ward at about the same time the Wolf’s Dragoons were annihilated on Ilion.
Border Skirmishes
The Rasalhague Dominion was unfortunately placed between two enemies at the time. Coreward, Clan Hell’s Horses was attacking the New Star League. Spinward, there was the genocidal threat of the Draconis Combine. Dalia Beker never forgave the Combine for their annihilation of Clan Nova Cat, even though a small group of their remnant had took the flag back in Marik space. As the Hell’s Horses were losing face and a war against the Wolves on Yorii, Dalia Bekker positioned her troops on the two fronts. With the defeat of Gottfried Amirault (internal), Dalia Bekker understood that Fulk Lassenerra (internal) would be a threat. With quick strikes, Clan Ghost Bear disabled the Horses’ war machine by taking out key supply plants.
Capellan – Star League War
Dalia Bekker dispatched 3 of her second-line galaxies to support Alaric Ward on the Capellan Fron. At the same time, the Dominion was under threat of a Combine assault. Thankfully, Dalia received a communique from Sterling McKenna (internal) by means of a telegram from Lloyd’s of New London. The Raven Alliance was going to strike at the Combine border to distract them, as the Ravens were too far away to effectively send troops to support the New Star League.
With the pressure going down, Dalia Bekker looked at her other options. She supported Azami secessionism to give her realm a buffer state with their enemy. All the while, she ordered attacks against the Combine positions to keep them on their toes. This likely prevented a full-scale invation of the Dominion. While the Dominion gains were minimal at the time, the “somewhat peace” this whole situation brought increased the population confidence in Bekker’s leadership.
A Change of Guard
After the signing of the Davion-Kurita and Liao capitulation, Dalia Bekker’s biggest issue is really to find a good leader for the Ghost Bears. This leader would need to continue her legacy of building bridges between the Inner Sphere and the Clans. She also looked for someone that would be willing to help in the construction of a stronger Star League.
Dalia Becker’s Battlemech
While she rarely pilots nowadays, Dalia Bekker pilots an Executioner.
