Project Inheritance

Clan Ghost Bear, Rasalhague Dominion, New Star League

Project Inheritance was a semi-secret state of affairs within The Ghost Bear Dominion, starting in 3082, and continuing through the change in government to the Rasalhague Dominion and through until the year 3153, which aimed to continue the Clan’s compulsory eugenics program in a manner compliant with the change in their laws. Where the prior program was compulsory to all parties, Project Inheritance obtained the consent of potential gene-parents, or assumed the consent in the case of oft-deceased gene-parents, in order to produce sibko who would then be raised in the manner of the Clan prior to Operation REVIVAL.

These sibko, unlike others following the change of law, were thus filled with individuals who were state property, and thus could be treated as property until they achieved rank through Trials of Position. Where participants in other sibko were able to wash out of the warrior caste into civilian caste rolls, those within Project Inheritance were deemed dangerous weapons and disposed of if such an incident occurred. This fact was made known upon its first occurrence to all remaining members of the Sibko, both to test their resolve and to keep them in line.

There were Inheritor Project sibkos hosted at Balmung, Kaesong, New Bergen, Nox, Phalan, Pomme de Terre, Richmond, and Tukayyid. In 3153, the project was dissolved on the orders of Loremaster Hans Kabrinski (internal) and Galaxy Commander Esbern Rand, both survivors of more extreme examples of the program, and all locations were incorporated into Project Silverdale.

Inheritor Secret Society

Project Inheritance was founded by scientists who escaped the Clan Homeworlds who had previously been associated with The Society. They were sponsored by Khan Aletha Kabrinski, SaKhan Ragnar Magnusson, Loremaster Laurie Tseng, Rho Galaxy Commander Michael Hawkins, and Phi Galaxy Commanders Paul and Shelly Rand. All of these were unaware of the frequent contact between their scientists and the remnants of the Society hiding in Wolverine Union space.

Due to dubious legality, most warriors who oversaw the program simply did not acknowledge it publicly, while the majority of warriors who achieved position out of the project took pride in surviving exceptional challenges. These Inheritors built a minor secret society in the Warrior Caste, which conspired together to take positions of command in their Galaxies, resolved disputes among themselves, and ultimately sought to guide a continued militarization of the Touman, even during Devlin Stone’s period of disarmament.

The Balmung sibko of Project Inheritance was also host to a group of joint Word of Blake and Society scientists who headed Project Soul Jar.

Interest in the Wolverine Union

The project itself was not amazingly advanced for the needs of the Wolverine Union. The Rim Worlds Republic and their allies did keep a close eye on it however and integrated multiple elements of the Inheritor curriculum in the training of vatgrown soldiers for the Word of Blake, Society and Rim Worlds Army. The quicker “turn around time” and basic concept that vatgrowns are nothing more than war materiel made it easier for their organizations to push this form of training.
