Meridian Manufacturing, by 3146, had fully modernized their infrastructure on New St. Andrews. They had begun production of more advanced BattleMechs, with things like the Wasp, Stinger and Phoenix Hawk. Those designs were being produced at roughly Succession War standard, albeit with a ferro-fibrous skin. A fully militarized version of the Arbiter also entered production in 3148. A decent proportion of the local production went to other local militias or the Marian Hegemony Armed Forces. Production lines for the Scorpion and Vedette battle tanks were the next things to be upgraded to more advanced, fuel-cell models before the Steel Vipers struck against New St. Andrews.
Keystone Plant
Hartford Zalman’s intention in conquering New St. Andrews was to gain access to the Meridian facilities to produce spare parts for the Steel Viper’s war machine in their upcoming assault against the Marian Hegemony. The massive investment in technology and equipment done by the Steel Vipers after the conquest ingratiated them to Meridian’s leadership. The fact the Steel Vipers did not want to “conquer and oppress” the locals but would rather have them work for their organization. This changed people’s attitudes over a few months, generally in favor of the Clan.
Multiple warehouses on New St. Andrews were filled with Clan equipment. The production of armor plates and ammunition became the backbone of Meridian’s output. At the same time, new version of the 3 ‘Mechs they could build were put in service of the Steel Viper toumans.
