Gamma Galaxy of the Steel Vipers is where the “traditionalists” have conglomerated to, keeping with most Clan traditions. While some would expect this to mean they would not get priority in assignment and equipment, it is viewed as the second most prestigious unit in the Clan. Led by the SaKhan, Gamma Galaxy represents the best of the Clan way of life within the Steel Vipers.

During the strikes against the Marian Hegemony, Gamma Galaxy still followed the orders of Khan Hartford Zalman to “leave nothing to chance”. However, they played by the rules a lot more than all other units. They generally tailored units to fight enemies more evenly, and letting warriors bid for the honor of leading the missions. While this led to a few difficult fights, optics surrounding Gamma Galaxy was better than most of the other units within the Clan.

The Summoner from the unit logo is the mascot of the unit, dating from the first production run. It was saved from the War of Reaving by Clan Goliath Scorpion, but retaken by the Burrocks. It was gifted back to the Steel Vipers in a ceremony in 3122.

Tactics

While other Clan Steel Viper formations have given up on Zellbrigen, Gamma Galaxy still regards the basic tenets of it as rede. While bioroid units are used by the commanders of the Galaxy, the rank and file prefer standard assignments with regular BattleMechs and OmniMechs.

With a more limited number of “standard” machines, they often has to make do with “bioroid” machines. Pilots sometimes deactivate the C3 system in these machines. This is more frequent in “older” warriors, as the younger ones have learned to use the system.
