Nickname | The Deadly Venom
Affiliation | Clan Steel Viper
Parent Command | Alpha Galaxy (CSV) |
The 4th Viper Guards was quickly reformed after the creation of Alpha Galaxy (CSV). While originally equipped with standard Battlemechs, they converted to bioroid units when it became available. Their unit was technically broken and disbanded by Clan Jade Falcon, and many warriors in the Fourth want to prove that they can take on bigger challenges.
The 4th Viper Guards has built itself as a training force, where young warriors are placed in binomes. The warriors learn to work in tandem, along with sharing the command of their bioroid assets. Once the warriors are well trained, they are either transferred to other commands to fill in positions. With the deployment of Alpha Galaxy to the Marian Hegemony, this took a backseat to combat operations.
Gideon Patrick believed his unit would be kept in reserve during the attacks on New St. Andrews. He was thrown for a loop when Hartford Zalman ordered him to strike at the Nelson’s Longbow directly while the 1st Viper Guards distracted the planetary militia.
Officers
- Star Colonel Gideon Patrick
4th Viper Guards Tactics
The 4th Viper used to be extremely aggressive during their time in the Inner Sphere. This was not translated during their recreation, however. They prefer slow, methodical advances and securing objectives, while minimizing losses.

The 4th Viper Guards follow the same standard pattern as the rest of Alpha Galaxy, but “provisional officers” are generally given stripes of colors of their future galaxies rather than Alpha.
