The First Robinson Strikers was originally a Light Combat Team, but victories during the Davion Reconquista led them to become an hybrid of a RCT and LCT, featuring a full BattleMech Regiment, a regiment of regular armor and a heavy cavalry regiment composed mostly of VTOL, troop transports and battle armors. While they used to be at the bottom of the supply chain, the pitched defense put on by Leftenant General Wilhelmina Groell (internal) during the defense of Robinson increased their standing.
While a lot of their equipment was regarded as basic compared to other AFFS units, the First Strikers rebuilt themselves with more reliable, fast striking cavalry machines. They were one of the first regiment in the AFFS to embrace VTOL ‘Mech transports. Wilhelmina Groell and the First Striker have gotten into the good graces of Prince’s Champion Erik Sandoval (internal) right after the Davion Reconquista.
Early Successes
The First Robinson Strikers participated in the 3149 reconquest of Robinson. By November 3149, Robinson was liberated. Rapidly, the various Robison regiments begin resupplying using the local military factories. While the First Strikers is still technically at the bottom of the supply chain, Wilhelmina Groell makes a deal with newcomer Quikscell Advanced Engineering to resupply their armor and cavalry regiments. This allowed their supply requests to be concentrated on light, medium and fast heavy ‘Mechs.
The pause in combat operations against the Draconis Combine after the fall of Terra to Clan Wolf allowed additional restructuring and upgrades to the First Strikers LCT. Wilhelmina Groell took her forces on various probing raids against the Draconis border. They tried to locate Combine supply depots and lost AFFS resources. Rather than keeping most of what she locates, she transfered a lot of this war materiel to the Robinson March Brigade, improving their unit standing.
Davion Reconquista
The reformed and reequipped First Robinson Strikers would be mobilized against the Dragon’s Tongue during the early period of the Davion Reconquista. While they did not participate in the Battle of New Avalon, the First, Fourth and Fifth had their elements deployed throughout the region. They were under command of Erik Sandoval at that point. Wilhelmina Groell’s forces were successful in most of their tasks. This included the capture of known war criminals in the Dragon’s Tongue.
As the Reconquista moved back to the Draconis March and the Draconis Combine Front, the Robinson March Brigade returned home. They quickly reequipped and pushed in the Combine territory. The First Striker served as a quick raider force at the time. They performend deep raids into enemy territory to capture supplies and deny them to their enemies.
Avalon Grand Crusade
In response to the Sheep of Kentares attacking Proserpina, Erik Sandoval needed a rapid deployment unit. The First Strikers offered themselves to the Prince’s Champion. Landing on the Combine planet, the First Strikers tracked down and eliminated Sheep of Kentares units and captured war criminals. They unfortunately were unable to prevent the Sheep’s leadership from fleeing the planet.
