The Thumpers originally were a mercenary unit, before taking a long-term contract with the Filtvelt Coalition. They worked as corporate security for quite some time as well. By the end of the Jihad, they had established themselves as the de-facto command unit of the Filtvelt Citizen’s Militia.

In recent years, the Thumpers served with the Brotherhood of Randis and 2nd Taurian Pride in Operation TRIDENT. Together, they damaged the infrastructure of the Tortuga Dominions. This led to them seriously limiting their piracy for close to 2 decades. More recently, as part of a coalition force, they helped the AFFS in the Davion Reconquista. The AFFS rewarded them with large amount of salvage from Combine forces. With this new equipment, they intend to perform deep strikes against the Tortuga Dominions and finally destroy them once and for all.

The Thumpers sold the rights to film their operations against pirates during the Republic era. Holovids of combat action, patrols and funny gag reels are a common sight in the Federated Suns, Lyran Commonwealth and reborn Free Worlds League. Funnily enough, the Rim Territories have also bought the rights to this as a form of training on how to operate against heavier units.

The Thumpers’ Tactics

Over the years serving the Filtvelt Citizen’s Militia, the Thumpers have changed their doctrine to be able to deal with mobile units more successfully. While the core of their forces remains siege breakers and juggernauts, every company now features at least 1 cavalry ‘mech unit. The reinforcement of the regiment with 2 foot infantry battalions and an airwing has also made sure they were more efficient in both defensive and offensive operations.
