Emma Centrella Martial Academy

The Emma Centrella Marital Academy is a primary military academy in the Magistracy of Canopus. Founded after the Jihad, it was meant to be a training facility with higher standards than planetary militia training. The quality of the training is lower than that of comparable academies in the Inner Sphere. However, the graduates can often go to specialize at other schools, like the Canopian Institute of War.

Curriculum

The Emma Centrella Martial Academy starts every course with 6 weeks of basic training, to learn the basic drills, firearms skills, and military etiquette. The remainder of the course load depends on what specialty the candidate is enrolled in. This ranges from a few weeks for basic infantry training to close to 2 years for MechWarrior or Aerospace Pilot. If the cadet shows high level of competence, they can be given a chance to join another academy for further specialization after those basic courses are completed.

Level of training

The Martial Academy follows the standard procedures in the Magistracy of Canopus, and positions are bought and sold rather than given to the best person available. This leads to the training being wildly different in quality even between officers. The only thing which keeps the training consistent is the basic training, which are always managed by competent drill sergeants.

The training is still viewed as much superior to regular planetary militia training because of standardization of it. A second academy is under construction on Luxen, which Majesty Metals and Manufacturing could provide equipment for. As the war with the Duchy of Andurien began, the school trained more recruits as quickly as possible, with this temporary campus training being put to use even though it is not complete.

The machines of the Emma Centrella Martial Academy are painted in green and gold color. Instructors add a red livery to their machine.
