Major Jack Dresden is a sociopathic pyromaniac. Not just “suspected” or “alleged” or “diagnosed”, it is literally the reason why he was hired and trained by Pinkerton’s from the very beginning, with people believing that perhaps he is actually a Trueborn Warrior phenotype or something of the sort. In the end, it does’t really matter.
Jack began his career at Pinkerton’s as a regular mechwarrior, assigned to a Firestarter. During his first few operations, he was quite adept at finding and setting the most important thing on fire to scare whoever was in charge of the local area. Not surprisingly, this made him quite popular amongst some of the leadership at Pinkerton’s. This led Dresden to rise into the ranks fairly quickly as part of the “problem solver” division at Lloyd’s of New London.
By the 3150s, Jack Dresden is in command of a full battalion of like-minded (at least, close enough) individuals. Recently, Pinkerton’s has been very happy to dispatch Dresden’s Enforcers to deal with more recalcitrant individuals and scare them into submission.
Major Dresden now pilots a customized Thor, equipped with a plasma rifle, plasma cannons and multiple flamers.
