Plot guidelines

This particular section of the metaplot will have a lot of “named characters” dying, sometimes heroically but sometimes also as complete chumps. Part of this is because the plot needs to move along, but also to show how dire the situation is for a lot of these factions and organizations. As a side note, the Lyran Commonwealth assault on the Wolf Empire is also less documented, but this could be greatly expanded upon, same with the Nova Cat / Spirit Cats military support of the Wolf Empire.

Hardware guidelines

Clans

Both the Wolves and Jade Falcons, at this point in time, are rather limited in terms of equipment, as the Battle of Terra took most of their front-line units and a lot of their high end gear. The main reason the Falcons are going back to Sudeten and Alyina is to recover their Battlemech factories on these worlds, as their forces equipment is limited. For the Wolf Empire, their resources are limited by the sheer lack of personel and skilled technicians, with their factories also being raided and materiel stolen by the Dragoons, LCAF and Marik forces. As such, second-line units, IIC units and such are to be favored as to what both the Wolves and Falcons use. Finally, both of the Clans have limited access to skilled mechwarriors as, again, they lost most of their forces on Terra.

Free Worlds League

In the case of House Marik, the various military outfits reforming under Nikol Marik are extremely well-equipped. First, the Free Worlds League still has access to a large number of military hardware factories, generally at the peak of available technology. Second, the leadership of the Free Worlds League wants their troops to be equipped to fight against Clan aggression, looking at Clan Wolf as their primary opponent in the region. Finally, the Free Worlds League still keeps good relationship with their neighbors in the Duchy of Andurien, Magistracy of Canopus and Capellan Confederation.

Marian Hegemony

The Marian Hegemony is still poorly equipped, at least when compared to any Inner Sphere powers. To begin with, they only recently acquired “full Battlemech” manufacturing capabilities, generally using stolen and unlicensed designs. Following this, the Marian has a much lower population base than any other local powers, which they compensate by having a rather efficient economy. In conclusion, the Marian will be using far more “Succession Wars” era equipment than would be expected of most factions in the IlClan-era .
