With a failed coup behind him, Vedet Brewer is running away from Trillian Steiner best he can. In a bid to gain political and public acknowledgement, he went to Mellisia to challenge whatever Falcon forces remained behind, only to learn the general area was abandoned. In another bid for power, he established the Vesper Marches, rallying local nobles and politicians behind him.
A bad deal
After the Falcons recovered their corewards territories, Stephanie Chistu ordered Jiyi Chistu to go and recover the Vesper Marches. At the same time, Trillian Steiner sent an ultimatum to her wayward Duke, requesting he surrenders to her. Even with one elite regiment and roughly the equivalent of a regiment of local troops, this was a bit much for him, and he decided to cut his losses. Grabbing all the troops and equipment he could, Vedet Brewer fled to the Timbuktu Collective.
In his new country
Arriving in the Collective with 3 jumpships, Brewer became the main logistics provider for the fledgling nation. He also was the most experienced military commander in the region, which allowed him to establish himself as a major power player in the Collective.
