Gottfried Amirault

After being refused a Circle of Equals in the Battle for Terra, Gottfried Amirault was angered at the Wolves and at how his Clan was treated, and had a desire for vengeance, but unfortunately, Alaric Ward would not award him a Trial of Grievance either. Unbeknownst to most, part of this was because of Gottfried’s degenerative muscle disease which was preventing him from doing more and more every month. The only two men knew of this, saKhan Fulk Lassenerra and Star Captain Peter Cobb. Preparing for a continuation of Operation STAMPEDE, Khan Amirault kept his forces at full strength.

In March, After The Wall Fell

Report of the Fortress System failing on Terra came to the Hell’s Horses Khan ears in early 3153, and he began mobilizing his entire touman to meet with the Wolves. Following tradition, Gottfried Amirault sent a batchall to the ilKhan for a Trial of Possession for Terra, to which Alaric replied by bidding 2 Galaxies and a “provisional local defenders’ unit”. Honorable to a fault, Gottfriend only brought 3 Galaxies of troops to Yorii, where the Trial was set to happen in order to protect Terra from another devastating war.

For two months, the Wolves and the Horses fought on Yorii, Alaric using every tricks from the book he learned from the Battle of Terra, and Gottfried Amirault following zellbringen to a tee, against the counsel of his saKhan and other close advisors. Gottfried could no longer move under his own power at the end of the month of June, with his Cygnus having been converted to use an interface cockpit instead of a standard ‘mech cockpit. When he receives a challenge to a duel from Alaric Ward, Gottfried knows his time has come and goes to the fight having already passed on the reigns of his Clan to Fulk Lassenerra.

Retreat from Yorii

Gottfried’s body was not recovered from his BattleMech, both in an attempt to hide his physical condition and so that the rest of the Clan could see his sacrifice as a heroic last stand against a superior enemy. The Hell’s Horses forces did not acknowledge the ilClan after their defeat, and it is not known if Fulk Lassenerra will make another attempt for Terra.
