GI Joe X Battletech Rules, Operation Blackout

GI Joe X Battletech Rules

GI Joe X Battletech Special Rules are some of the rules you might want to apply to your games if you decide to go all-in with this fun setting. The GI Joe RPG by Renegade Game Studios is a pretty awesome system, and can be used for most of you “out of ‘mech” experience, but when the shooting in big giant robots start, you will likely be going back to the old reliable Classic Battletech (or Alpha Strike, I’m not too picky). Some of the rules will need to be migrated in and out of the systems, but here are some things I already cooked up for players.

GI Joe Story Point Rules for Battletech

General Rules and situations

Remember that all rules posted here are optional, and meant to increase the fun you are having if playing in the GI Joe X Battletech crossover. If you want to adapt these rules for your own Battletech campaign, go right ahead and see how it fits for you guys. Each play group is its own thing, and you are welcome to give me feedback on anything here by emailing me at [email protected].

As I playtest both GI Joe, Classic Battletech and even Alpha Strike with these rules, I will likely come up with more new options. If anyone has any ideas on what we should do to let players modify the course of the battle using Story Points, or narrative changes which might be required to make this kind of campaign more pulpy, silly and fun, please make sure you give me an update on it.

This is what we mean by “fandom is for the fans”. We are to work together to get things moving in the direction we all like.
