Taurus’s Background

Varujan “Taurus” Ayvazyan is a spy. You wouldn’t be able to tell, of course, as he spends most of his time doing strongman acts in arenas throughout the world before doing stunts in his battlemech. That’s what makes him a good spy for the Taurian Military Intelligence. Taurus originally met Sgt. Slaughter as they both worked the Solaris “Kayfabe circuit”, where the two became generally fairly friendly, even participating in tag matches together. When Robert Remus left the company, Varujan was ready to recruit him to the TMI, but missed his opportunity due to bad timing on his travels.

When Sergeant Slaughter formed the Renegades, Varujan was the one to approach him, revealing his true employer in order to help the Joes while still working for the TMI. Taurus spends a lot of time training and drilling recruits in the “finer arts” of spycraft, before inspiring them to do ridiculous feats of strength like breaking bricks on his head, juggling scimitars or staying in a plank for 6 hours. Taurus does report a lot of his missions and such to the Taurian, but he does keep all “critical” Joe information secret. In his spare time, Varujan Ayvazyan likes mountaineering, generally in “extreme survival mode”, unless his wife and five kids are with him, in which case it is “extreme leisure mode”, with a custom camper, barbecue and marshmallows, along with inviting any of the other Renegades along.
