Gung-Ho Background

From the Rippon bloodhouse, Etienne Smoke Jaguar was not originally a Ristar, passing his blooding trial with a single kill before having to eject, but as trials and fights to see who would go on to serve in the Invasion fleet grew more numerous, the young warrior displayed incredible resilience and courage under fire. His combat skills were greatly appreciated evem though his “laissez le bon temps rouler” (which his entire sibko shared, after being raised by an incredibly weird instruction, who actually serves Clan Mongoose) attitude often made the Jaguar leadership a bit wary. During the Invasion, Gung-Ho served efficiently until his unit was ambushed by the Joes, on a rescue mission to locate some Kuritan VIP. The battle was short but decisive in the favor of the Joes, who were led by Stalker. Surrendering as a bondsman, Etienne Smoke Jaguar didn’t know what his future was going to hold, but so did the Joes. The whole concept of “bondsmen” was not understood by the Inner Sphere at the time, and the warrior was given duties in the dropship cafeteria, with “Mamie” LaFitte, an old Cajun veteran who no longer could fight having lost an eye and her left leg in battle.

When Cobra captured the Joe’s Overlord dropship where he served, Etienne Smoke Jaguar defended the ship using basic tools and kitchen knives, earning the trust and admiration of some of the Joes. He was later adopted as a son by Mamie LaFitte, changing his name officially to Etienne Rippon LaFitte, cementing him as a “true Cajun” , which he happily proclaims now. His massive Smoke Jaguar tattoo on his chest makes some uncomfortable, but the large man laugh is contagious and his constant use of French aphorism relax people.
