Clutch’s Background

If something has wheels, threads, two-legs or four legs, Clutch can drive it and pilot it to where you need to go. Even if it has wings or just jets, he can probably get it where you need to be given enough time and if you don’t get airsick. Even amongst the Joes who are fantastic at their jobs, Clutch is a specialist in his line of work and the others will listen to him if he has something to say.

Born from a middle-class family on New Syrtis, he was supposed to inherit his father’s mechanic business before he decided to enlist (just for one tour, pa, and I’ll get an engineering degree with the grant!), but Yeshua just too good at what he did, and what he did was be an amazing driver. His posting with GI Joe began when he was tasked with driving Stalker and Scarlett to a rendez-vous with an informant, where he saved the day with his quick thinking and amazing driving skills. He was recruited to the team the next day, over the objections of Scarlett, who disliked his unabashed machismo. Clutch quickly mastered every vehicle in the Joe motorpool, before concentrating his work on Battlemechs.

Clutch views himself as a perfect ladies man, keeping a perfectly unshaved 5 o’clock shadow at all time, combined with slicked back hair like old rockstars of the Terran middle-ages. When not on a mission, Clutch loves to tinker around the motorpool or in the engineering bay, and he is working on his mech engineer degree by correspondence with NAIS. Once that is completed and he gets a quick officer training, he will likely be climbing the ranks of the Joes even quicker.
