Storm Shadow’s Background

Thomas Arashikage was to become the next leader of the Arashikage Clan until his uncle was killed by a mysterious assassin by an arrow which could only have been fired by Thomas… or could it? From that day onwards, Storm Shadow has been chasing shadows and rumors to find this mysterious man, only to find refuge working as a bodyguard for Thomas Marik, who he later learned was Cobra Commander. His services to Cobra include both his combat expertise and intelligence gathering skills, but also his talents at assassination and training the Cobra Red Ninja troops. A honorable man, Storm Shadow is often seen as letting his opponents go if they did not stop his mission rather than chasing and destroying them, even if that would often be in Cobra’s interest. His relationship with the Joe’s ninja master Snake Eyes seems extremely odd, with both men having great respect for each other, but fighting to kill whenever they are facing each other, either on foot or in battlemechs.

Thomas has perfect hearing and can recognize someone from the beating of their heart, and spends most of his free time investigating his uncle’s death, who he originally blamed on Snake Eyes, but then evidence pointed him in a completely different direction, towards the ISF and Maskirovka. Stom Shadow is married but keeps his family completely separate from his work with Cobra, in hope both Cobra and the Joes will not use them against him.
