Firefly’s Background

Hiring Firefly is easy. All you need is the routing number of his secret ComStar bank account, a lot of C-bills and someone you want to hurt really bad. Cobra Commander, both as Thomas Marik and as his alter ego, have hired Firefly so many times to do all sorts of things. Rumor has it he might have been the one to cause Storm Shadow’s uncle to die, but both Cobra Commander and Firefly deny it. The ninja also has very good relations with Zartan, but his sister Zarana is wary of him. With Serpentor now also in the picture, Firefly is trying to build a relationship with the Clans and potentially expanding his work into Clan space.

Firefly is a descendant of the Kage Ninja clan, which currently serves House Hasek in the Federated Commonwealth. His actual identity has been narrowed down to a few key individuals in the familly which have been “excommunicated”, but his name and full identity is kept a secret by both the Kage Clan and ComStar, which has kept his information underwraps from any members of the Joes, ISF or any other intelligence agency (many of which do still hire him, even knowing of his associations). The Clan Smoke Jaguar Watch has been trying to figure out his identity as well, for unknown reasons.
