Admiral Ledger’s Background

Warren Ledger was the man in charge of logistics and deployment for the GI Joe at the inception, a Lyran “Social Admiral” with credentials for space battle on paper-only, like almost all Black Navy officers of the Inner Sphere at the time. General Abernathy did not want to anger his sponsors in the Lyran Commonwealth, so he begrudginly accepted Ledger’s support at the time, before learning that the man was actually extremely skilled at what he was supposed to do on paper: moving things. Ledger had contacts and friends in every single transport and jumpship company in the Inner Sphere and the Periphery and could arrange transport from anywhere, to anywhere within a matter of days. He even commanded his own “fleet” of jumpships, generally captured pirate vessels repurposed as military transports, along with a significant number of a variety of different classes of dropships.

As the Clan Invasion struck, Ledger had to make arrangements for the Joes to strike within the Clan Occupation Zone, which led him and a few other Joes to have a space battle against Clan Cloud Cobra / Cobra’s Aegis-class heavy cruiser Sanctity. With quick thinking and mobility, the Joes actually boarded the ship and captured it, bringing it back to Terra for repairs at one of ComStar‘s repair berth. The Sanctity, renamed Liberty, became Ledger’s new flagship.

As of the arrival of Star Admiral Keel-Haul, Ledger is a bit jealous of the capabilities of his Clan counterpart, and is trying to one-up him in many situations. Both men however enjoy a good cigar and expensive brandy, along with rather awful “dad puns”. The Joes still rely heavily on Ledger’s skill at logistics and deployment.
