A simple man with a simple plan, Timothy Seiser was in command of the Seventh Federated Commonwealth RCT at the start of the Fifth Succession War. While of Lyran origin, he was happy to serve in the Federated Suns territory and then within the St.Ives Compact. While his loyalties were tested by the members of the Lyran Alliance, he was too busy fighting the Capellans to ever consider joining them.
Early life
Coming from a rich military family from Hesperus II, Timothy Seiser was always destined for greatness in the Lyran Commonwealth military. His middling grades in primary and secondary school did not matter much as his family owned a full company of BattleMechs and he was destined to pilot a brand new Zeus which had been commissioned for him specifically. He was sent to the Coventry Military Academy where he did display decent command skills and showcased decent piloting skills, gained through years of training in his youth on simulators and even in live BattleMechs. He graduated on a lieutenant commission as part of the Fourth Donegal Guards.
Military Career
Fourth Succession War
During the Fourth Succession War, Captain Seiser performed above expectations and with fewer losses than calculated. During the fighting against Helmut’s Hermits, he captured 3 ‘Mechs without their pilots which were used to replenish the Fourth’s forward force. He was given a promotion after the war and transferred to the command staff of the newly formed Federated Commonwealth Corps.
New Units, New You
The FedCom RCTs were being mustered and organized from the end of the Fourth Succession War up until the War of 3039. Timothy Seiser spent most of his time managing unit deployment, logistics chain and providing new and refurbished ‘mechs to the new regiments. In 3039, the now Leutnant-Colonel Seiser was appointed to the Seventh FedCom RCT under John Albion Pickett. The unit was deployed to Nashuar in the St.Ives Compact where it served as a “false front” to mask the growth of units that were to take part in the War of 3039.
Clan Invasion and Interwar period
The Seventh FedCom did not participate in any operations during the Clan Invasion, but a good number of their personnel were relocated to units on the front. This kept the Seventh FedCom being more of a “training unit” than anything. Most of the action seen by the unit came from Liao-sponsored raiders and sponsored police action within the St.Ives Compact. Hauptmann-General Pickett retired in 3054, with Timothy Seiser being promoted to replace him from the ranks of the unit.
Fifth Succession War
At the outbreak of the Fifth Succession War, the Seventh FedCom RCT started mobilizing as Operation GUERRERO struck the Terran corridor. By the time Operation GUAN XING, the Seventh was ready to be deployed at the order of any Federated Commonwealth commander, their dropships fueled up and ready to go. They weren’t immediately activated by Duke Morgan Hasek-Davion, but they did see action quickly as Nashuar erupted into civil unrest after the first wave of the Capellan operation.
Not willing to risk alienating the locals, Timothy Seiser waited for clear orders and permission for his men to act. Even though the unit was almost “nationalized” by the St.Ives Compact, they were still officially on the FedCom payroll and could easily cause issues with Capellan nationalists if they acted unilaterally. After a few weeks, Seiser received a verigraph signed by both Morgan Hasek and Candace Liao giving him full authority to quell the rebellion on the planet. With the full strength of a Regimental Combat Team and the political will behind him, General Seiser broke the agitators and secessionists by removing the corrupt planetary governor and striking the Capellan-sponsored mercenaries hard and fast.
The Seventh FedCom RCT then gathered their forces and jumped to Necromo, where they raided multiple Capellan facilities, capturing large amounts of aerospace fuel by stealing entire tanker DropShips and crippling the 15th Dracons that were regrouping on the planet.
Timothy and the Seventh recuperated for most of early 3060 and 61, with some of their elements being redistributed for defense on nearby worlds. It wasn’t until the fourth phase of Operation GUAN XING that the Seventh FedCom was used offensively again, teaming up with the St.Ives Second Chevaux Legers to capture Sendalor.
After the operation, Timothy Seiser was recalled to Spica for a debriefing and a planning session. The various officers meeting there were preparing for further operations when they were poisoned by what officially would be called Capellan Death Commandos but would later be identified as Word of Blake agents. While some officers survived, Timothy Seiser died of renal failure in agonizing pain.
Personal Life
Timothy Seiser was married to Carole Simms until 3043, when he was posted on Nashuar. His wife did not want to leave the Lyran Commonwealth and decided this was for the best for her. In 3045, Timothy married Jin Yu Quan, a local seamstress, which had to be vetted to confirm she was not a Capellan agent. He has one daughter from his previous marriage and a son from his current one. His death during the toxic attack on Spica brought his former wife and new wife together to raise his young son.
Timothy Seiser’s BattleMech
As with any good Lyran officer, Timothy Seiser piloted a Zeus. The ‘mech was upgraded to Star League standards in 3049.
