CCAF Regular forces

By the dawn of the Fifth Succession War, House Liao had been rebuilding since the devastating times of the Fourth Succession War. Unfortunately, a lot of that “reconstruction” had been under the eye of the increasingly paranoid (for good reasons) Romano Liao and it wasn’t until her son Sun Tzu took power that things began moving in a more positive manner. The Xin Sheng movement instigated by Sun Tzu Liao reformed and reorganized much of the Capellan Confederation Armed Forces, with multiple “pillars” being used to hold up the establishment. While the Death Commandos, Warrior Houses and McCarron Armored Cavalry remained independent, the remainder of the Armed Forces were rebuilt around a standardized format which was preserved for most of the Fifth Succession War.
Capellan Confederation Armed Forces during the Fifth Succession War era were composed of the following 4 detachments:
Hussar, or Light Cavalry, are units built around mobility to provide support to other units or provide intelligence. Core units are composed of ‘Mechs with the Scout or Skirmisher role. Special units are composed of ‘Mechs with the Striker role. Any other role is considered a Rare choice.
Dragoon, or Heavy Cavalry, are built around the ability to destroy enemy front-lines through sheer power, along with breaking enemy formations. The main units in Dragoon units, composing the Core choices, are ‘Mechs with the Missile Boat and Sniper Role. Special choices will be composed of Strikers and Brawlers. All other ‘Mech roles are considered Rare choices.
Rangers, or Line Infantry, are units meant to compose the front-line units of the CCAF. ‘Mechs with the Juggernaut and Brawler roles are considered Core units for these detachments. Special units are composed of Missile Boats and Sniper ‘Mechs. Any other role is considered a Rare choice.
Reserves, or Rear Infantry, were units with meant for support, garrison work and simply amplifying the power projection of more specialized units. Reserve units were not equipped with the latest available technology, meaning that any design from 3050 and onwards are considered 1 rarity higher for these detachments. Howewer, they were quite flexible in their unit composition. Any Light and Medium ‘Mechs are considered Core units in Reserves, while Heavy ‘Mechs are considered Special choices. Assault ‘Mechs are considered Rare choices.

Conventional Infantry
Conventional infantry was all that was available to the CCAF at the start of the Fifth Succession War. Thankfully, massive formations of average troopers were still available to the Confederation even during the harder years of the Romano regime.
Foot Rifle and Laser rifle infantry are Core support choices for CCAF detachments. Hussar detachments get a free troop transport upgrade with these choices, while Rangers detachment can take a free field gun upgrade.
Motorized infantry is a Core support choice in Hussar detachments, while they are considered a Special support asset in other detachments.
Jump intanry are considered normally a Rare support asset choice but are considered a Special support asset in Hussar and Dragoon detachments.
Battle Armors
The concept of Battle Armors was understood by the Capellan Confederation after the initial wave of the Clan Invasion, but none of the local corporations acquired the technology until much later. Imports of Inner Sphere Standard Battle Armors from the Free Worlds League made up the bulk of the Battle Armor forces of the CCAF until the introduction of the Fa Shih in 3062, but even that was only a tiny portion of the overall CCAF infantry forces. All Battle Armor choices for CCAF regular forces are Rare support Assets.
