Colonial Tractors

Colonial Tractors is a popular name in the Fronc Reaches and surrounding area, producing some of the region’s most popular agricultural equipment. The Fronc government had to drive them into production of military equipment after the loss of Detroit Consolidated MechWorks. This pivot increased the revenue of the company but also forced them to diversify their production far beyond what they were expecting. This was not to say they did not know what they were doing, however.

Colonial Tractors was also one of the companies who, throughout the late Star League and Succession War, had been building the Toro out of spare parts, partially hidden knowledge and sheer spite for the Star League and their member states. While the production was minimal, those Toro armed mercenaries and rebels throughout the rim ward region for hundreds of years. While this production had slowed down to a crawl during the later half of the 31^st century, their production line was reactivated as soon as a budget was allocated to it.

Recent History

The War of the Reaches affected Colonial Tractors more than expected. While the Fronc government petitioned them to build more ‘Mechs to fight the Aurigans and Taurians, they were unable to meet expectations due to their limited manpower and equipment. With trade blockades imposed by Clan Sea Fox in the region, they were also unable to get some of the parts they required to complete orders placed to them.

When the Reaches came to an agreement and the war ended, technical support came to Colonial Tractors from the Aurigan Trade Alliance. Colonial tractors received some assistance on improving some of their production processes and got deals for quality materials imported from their neighbor.

The Colonial Tractors factory on Fronc is a large-scale installation which originally produced farm equipment and civilian IndustrialMechs. When it was converted to a military hardware company in 3092, the increased their general size by digging under their current facilities and expanding from there.

Effective Technology Level

Colonial Tractors is still playing catch-up with almost all the companies in the Rimward Alliance. Even with new investments and better trade deals with the Aurigan Reaches, Colonial Tractors must import almost all their advanced equipment still. They have started production of Double Heat Sinks thanks to Flanagan’s Repair and Refits. Ferro-fibrous armour is imported again from Flanagan or their partner company, Aspero-Dinton Manufacturing. They are not ready to expand into new technological avenues yet, preferring to focus on new upgrade kits for their existing models.

Colonial Tractors does not manufacture any Clan-graded equipment. They also do not have access to any endo-steel or endo-steel related equipment.
