Camacho’s Caballeros Unit Composition

Combat Vehicles

The Caballeros support units are used to deploy in conjunction with their ‘mech force. They favor fast vehicles and hovercrafts as standard. Hovercrafts are always considered Core units for the Caballeros. Any heavy or larger vehicles are considered Special units in Line detachments and Rare units in Scout Detachment.

VTOL

The Caballeros support units often deploy VTOL scouts and support units. All VTOL count as Core units in Scout detachments and Special units in Line detachments.

BattleMech

Light and Medium ‘mechs are always considered Core units in a Caballeros unit.

For Scout detachment, Assault ‘mechs cannot be included, and heavy ‘mechs need to be 5/8 or equipped with Jump Jets to be counted as Special units. Any other Heavy ‘mech is considered a Rare unit.

For Line detachment, Assault ‘Mechs count as Special units if equipped with Jump Jets or 5/8 or faster. Any other Assault ‘Mech is considered a Rare unit. Any heavy ‘mech that are 5/8 or equipped with Jump Jets are considered Core units, while any other Heavy ‘Mech is a Special unit.

Camacho’s Caballeros still mainly employs standard infantry rather than Battle Armors. Battle Armors count as Special or Rare units in Caballeros unit composition when used.

Basic Rules

Camacho’s Caballeros is still mainly a “recon regiment” as their designation as the 17^th Recon Regiment implies. Most pilots pilot fast ‘mechs, with the majority of the units being composed of Medium units and supporting lights. Heavy ‘mechs are generally fast heavies or cavalry heavies, with jump jets being favored. Assault ‘mechs are generally only deployed in specialized assault units which are not deployed frequently.

The Caballeros are split into 2 types of Detachment: Scout detachment and Line detachment. Scout detachments are meant for rapid strikes and scouting while Line detachments are the standard combat units of the Caballeros.

Common SPAs for Caballeros pilots are Jumping Jack, Terrain Master and Eagle’s Eyes. Those are available on Veteran pilots and above. For Elite pilots, common SPAs include Maneuvering Ace, Hot Dog or Natural Grace. The Camacho’s Caballeros are a Veteran rated unit and pilots start at 4/4.
