Robinson Standard BattleWorks was a minor supplier during most of the Succession Wars. Through a mix of clever political moves and bribery, Aaron Sandoval got the First Prince to allow him to expand and develop the factories into full-blown BattleMech manufactures. It was the even more cunning James Sandoval who started investing heavily into the development of the company, which the Sandoval family basically owns. The wealth generated by the company improved the standing of the already powerful Sandoval family and put them at the forefront of future events after the Clan Invasion.

Robinson Standard BattleWorks has a reputation for only selling equipment to families friendly to the Sandovals and that carry a hatred for the Draconic Combine. RSB does not export any equipment, everything produced being provided to Federated Suns units and friendly mercenaries.

Recent History

Robinson Standard BattleWorks has been on the front line of the war between the Federated Suns, Draconis Combine and what remained for the Republic of the Sphere. The Combine conquered the world in 3144 and attempted to turn the factories into a front-line supplier. The locals, however, did not appreciate their new masters and generally sabotaged everything they could.

In 3147, an AFFS task force raided Robinson for supplies, which the locals gladly provided them with. Payments for the supplies were put on the ledger of the Sandoval family, to be paid once the world was freed. Robinson BattleWorks itself was damaged during the raid as workers took completed Atlas and Atlas III and rebelled against the 8th Sword of Light unit left to defend the world. While the workers were all killed, they were viewed as heroes and the DCMS has to repress even more riots and unrest across the world, slowing down production of weapons for their own needs.

Robinson was retaken by the Federated Suns in 3149, and the factories were once again used to provide equipment for the Sandoval family and their Davion allies. The Kuritan workers which had been brought in to replace those killed by the DCMS were either exiled or arrested.

Manufacturing

While the Robinson factories have changed hands multiple times recently, with the Combine trying to “refill it” with their own personel. Despite this, the local populace is happy to once again replace these “scabs” and “Dragonlickers” to start producing machines for the Davion war machine again.

Effective technology level

Robinson Standard BattleWorks is at the cutting edge of Inner Sphere technology thanks both to NAIS and RISC investing in them over the years. They are ready to “move forward” as well, introducing more Clan-graded equipment in their newer designs to satisfy an ever-increasing demand. Unfortunately for them, most of these advances are in the weaponry department and not the structural department.

Robinson Standard BattleWorks can produce endo-steel and endo-composite, all forms of modern Inner Sphere armor along with all forms of Inner Sphere engines and gyro combinations. They can also manufacture and install all forms of modern Inner Sphere electronics.

Clan-graded equipment built by Robinson Standard BattleWorks includes:

  • ER PPC
  • ER Lasers
  • Pulse lasers
  • Limited access to Clan Streak LRMs
  • Limited access to HAG/30
