Independence Weaponry is a major supplier of weapons and military equipment to the Inner Sphere at large through their multiple factories. While their primary facility is on Quentin, they are headquartered on New Samarkand. A true multinational, Independence Weaponry is supposed to only supply the DCMS. However, they have numerous satellite offices, mobile showrooms and long-standing contracts which allow them to sidestep many of these concerns. With factories in 3 major Successor States and 1 newly established state, Independence has to navigate the difficult waters of international trade more than many corporations.
Recent History
As Quentin passed from the Combine to the Republic of the Sphere, Independence Weaponry was scared that the “disarmament” drive of Devlin Stone would harm their business. Thankfully, the Republic Armed Forces still needed weapons and were happy to make a deal with a company that was not “touched” by the Jihadis.
Judith Hotchkiss, CEO of Independence, still planned for the New Samarkand refit yards to be fully upgraded to a full BattleMech production factility by the start of the 32nd century. She did this to keep in the good graces of the DCMS, who was still the primary client for their firm. While there were plans to move their headquarters to New Ivaarsen, regional instability stopped the move.
As Quentin moved to the control of the Azami Brotherhood, Independence negotiated new trade agreements with the new government. This ensured that the Brotherhood would purchase a fair amount of materiel from them, while also opening up trade routes with the Federated Suns and the Lyran Commonwealth.

Effective Technology Level
While they are a major supplier, Independence Weaponry is not at the cutting-edge of technology. Most of their equipment and production facilities are built to mass-produce standard-issue BattleMechs for non-descript customers. They have access to all Civil War era equipment, along with advanced Inner Sphere Gyro and armor types. They focus significantly on machines using C3 equipment, even as they are losing popularity.
Independence Weaponry never had access to Clan gear to reverse engineer and have not been researching more advanced equipment. They concentrate instead on improving their processes on standard technology.
