Clint Mason is a direct descendant of Jake Mason, sometimes also called “John Battetech”. While he did not inherit Mason’s Marauder as the 3^rd kid in the family, Clint decided to join Flanagan’s Highwaymen with other “lesser members” of the mercenary unit. The good relations between the Marauders and the Highwaymen made this easy for him, and he secured himself a billet in the Home Guard unit, where Clint drills new recruits and serves as a liaison to other mercenary units.

Early Life

Clint Mason is the youngest of the kids of Jeremiah Mason, the current commander of Mason’s Marauders. He was drilled from a young age to serve in the mercenary unit, which generally work for Interstellar Expeditions, House Arano and House Davion. While he is older, he was a companion to Joshua Snord during their formative years.

Clint had no real “aspirations” while learning the MechWarrior trade, knowing he would never lead the Marauders himself. A competent cavalry commander, he was given one of the Marauder’s prized ‘mech, Sidewinder, to pilot for training and his first years of service.

Joining Flanagan

Clint Mason looked for opportunities for growth and promotions through mercenary units affiliated with IE to stay close to his younger friend, Joshua Snord. Unfortunately, the rough mercenary market of the Late Republican Era made it difficult for him to find anything of value. His mother did reach out to Flanagan’s Repair and Refits during a trip in the Rim Ward Periphery, and the Flanagan family was happy to give an officer commission to Clint Mason.

Over a few years, Clint proved himself a valuable asset to Flanagan’s Highwaymen. Along with other “descendants” of the original Mason Marauder’s, he fought a few battles against pirates and “likely Word of Blake” targets. His leadership capabilities were doubled with a natural knack for training, which led the Flanagan’s to set him up as an instructor as part of the Home Guard.

Recent Development

Clint Mason was received into the Flanagan’s Traveler family after joining the Home Guard. Since then, he and his men have been given more power in the group, along with their own jumpship. The vessel was sent to support the rest of his family, strengthening the ties between Flanagan’s and the Mason Marauders, along with Interstellar Expeditions.

During the fight against the invading Wolverine Word of Blake elements, Captain Mason fought against various units as part of the Home Guard. He captured an Archangel as a prize, but the machine was unusable as it used the Wolverine Bioroid Command technology.

Clint Mason pilots a customized Dragon which he inherited from his mercenary family, nicknamed “Sidewinder”, which was captured after a fight with the Crimson Inclination more than a century ago.
