Winfield’s Regiment

Winfield’s Regiment is an attached mercenary unit, under contract by the Marian Hegemony. Formerly a LCAF unit, they defended the world of Winfield against Clan Jade Falcon during Operation REVIVAL, but were forced off world. Since then, the unit formed itself as a mercenary outfit, mostly serving with the Marian Hegemony. With a less than admirable track record, Winfield’s Regiment has fallen into debt with their employer.

Recent history

Winfield’s Regiment was almost destroyed by the end of the Jihad. The remnants of the unit clung to life by getting a contract with the Marian Hegemony Armed Forces. They were mostly paid in salvage, new equipment from Marian Arms factories and were allowed to recruits from the Hegemony in general. The Regiment restructured around following the Marian Hegemony’s military formation rather than the Star League standard.

Deeply indebted to the Marian state, Winfield’s Regiment was still able to act partially independently. They took defense contracts and pirate hunt contracts throughout the Marian Expanse at the end of 31^st century and start of the 32^nd. While still feeling the wounds the Circinus Federation dealt to them, they still worked for former Circinian world governments.

Lothian Uprising

Winfield’s Regiment fought for the Marian Hegemony in their conflict with the rebelling Lothian League worlds. The various formations served primarily in defensive positions, preventing Lothian rebels from raiding key Marian assets. During the battle of Logan Prime, the 1^st Battalion defended the landing zone for the Marian forces. This allowed them to escape in good order rather than having a complete debacle.

War of Marian Aggression

During the fight between the Duchy of Tamarind-Abbey/FWL and the Hegemony, Winfield’s Regiment served again as a defensive outfit. Multiple supply depots and stockpiles on Marian worlds were protected by the Regiment. Even during raiding operations, a small detachment of Winfeld’s forces were often dispatched to guard the landing zone to prevent any failed retreats.

After the War of Marian Aggression, the Regiment has been rebuilt through lend-lease programs and is about at 80% strength.

Winfield’s Regiment Color Scheme

The Regiment uses a green and black color scheme for their machines, with additional red highlights now due to their service in the Marian Hegemony.
