Colby Pritchard is the commander of II Legio and a close friend of the previous Caesar of the Marian Hegemony. Before the death of Lucian O’Reilly, Colbinus Prefect was appointed as commander during the battle of Logan Prime. The commander was also given the task to “keep a close eye” on Ignatius Caesar. A dedicated patriot, Colbinus Prefect has invested a lot of his time in “improving the perception” of the Marian Hegemony in the rest of the Inner Sphere. This does lead him to be extremely severe with his troops when they are deployed. He tries to limit the amount of “ancillary crimes” they commit, leading to harsh punishments.

Background

Colby Pritchard comes from a lower Patrician family, owning a small farm on Marius’s Tear. The youngest of the family, he did not have much hope of inheriting much. As such, he continued through his military service once his mandatory assignment was done. A competent MechWarrior, he was a dedicated duelist in his unit, winning accolades from his crew.

During the Lothian Insurrection, II Legio was supporting the Caesar’s unit on Logan Prime. As the battle took a turn for the worse, Lucianus Caesar promoted several field commanders to higher positions, including Colby Pritchard. This came as a bit of a surprise, but Colby at that point was the highest-ranking Prefect in the unit. Ordering the retreat after the death of the Caesar, Pritchard expected his career to end, even though he had been asked to take care of Ignatius O’Reilly.

Luckily for him, the Senate found no misdeed in his retreat, and left him in his current position. As a veteran officer at this point, Colbinus Prefect reorganized his troops. He also asked for additional resources for II Legio to become a truly elite unit. During the War of Marian Aggression, II Legio and Colby Pritchard chased the Tamarind Regulars and their supporting mercenaries, Camacho’s Caballeros. While the results were limited, he did succeed at trapping the Caballeros and seriously damaging them.
